High resolution better - news AES paper but meta-analysis

Claims high resolution discernibly better but is a meta-analysis of lots of average to poor quality studies aggregated together a valid way of arriving at a conclusion?

This has been discussed thorougly in other forums like Gearslutz.

Bottom line is you need meta analyses to find that higher res is different than lower res. Most of the time, nobody would notice what’s higher and what’s lower res.
