Hello all,
I'm experiencing a high pitch tone (about 5000 Hz) from right channel of the turntable output. The tone is inaudible at low volume levels, but, as usual, to test if the signal path is clean, I try also the maximum volume of the amp, to see what happens, so starting from 12 o'clock to the max of the amp potentiometer, I can hear this tone, from the right channer only. I swapped the turntable output cable and the tone follows the cable, so it is from the cartridge/turntable and not from the rest of the chain (pre-phono and integrated amp).
My setup is Dynavector MC cartridge, Rega P8 turntable and Classic Audio MC PRO pre phono (62 dB gain).
The integrated amp is Topping LA90 Discrete, high gain.
I've disconnected everything else and tried to move the boxes, to try to separate the turntable from sources of interferences, as transformers, but nothing changes.
The grounding scheme seems OK, only a audio box (DAC) has cabinet and audio ground connected to protective electrical ground.
The tone is present also if the turntable motor is disconnected from mains. As said, I have also two other sources to the amp, DAC and SACD player, but they are not affected by a similar issue and If I disconnect them, the issue with the turntable doesn't change.
Can be some radio interference or a cartridge failure? The left channel is fine, only usual white noise is present at maximum volume, as expected.
Thanks

Any cheap led lights near?
Any motor at the same grid of some kind (fridge, A/C,heat pump, etc)

Any close proximity to routers, PC, etc?
Apparently not, but I'll try to relocate the turntable and see what happens.

Problem solved! it was the transformer inside Denon SACD player. It is out of my knowledge why generally japanese prefer EI transformers versus toroidal. I've swapped the Denon with an old NAIM CD player with toroidal transformer which has less magnetic field leakage and the interference vanished.
