I have the KH 150s on my desk now and at around 90cm I do not notice any issues with summing at all. I have to get within 2 feet or so before I can start localizing the drivers.

The drivers themselves sit a good deal back in the cabinet, particularly the tweeter with the deep waveguide. I imagine this helps a bit with nearfield integration.
