Damn. Feels like it would be sort of a shame to not be a speaker guy and be at one of these shows.

I admit that trying on various earphones at audio shows, putting on my head something plenty of other strangers have been placing on their head, gives me the heebie-jeebies.
Some germaphobia left over from Covid I guess.

When I was young (decades ago...) fairs were accessible to everyone and for all budgets. These are not even "luxury" fairs, but mockeries (if we write here on ASR and not on other forums, there must be a reason...).

That’s good to know for @Pearljam5000 - He told me the other day his back is hurting him at times.
He also asked me earlier today to place an order on his behalf. Glad that his speaker hunt is over and his finance has improved.

As you need veils anyway not to be scared to death by the speakers staring in your direction at night, you can carry on hiding the donor.

He can always justify he needs to be blindfolded to test his speakers. At least he is not seeing his partner while listening to music.

There's nothing intimidating about them, there are way taller and bigger ones around, even their big mains are more intimidating than these.
The one thing that spoils their appearance is woofer material and the screws around it.

It would look like a very different speaker with another woofer and hidden screws.
The sound on the other side...

Haha, don’t get me wrong— I’d love to have some speakers but my neighbors probably wouldn’t! I’ll still audition some of course, but without the possibility for now of having a proper setup myself, I find myself lacking the experience and passion to call myself a "speaker guy". As for the germaphobia, yeah, I understand that… I’d rather not thing about it too much and eagerly await my shower
