Hello -sorry my English is not best …

Bear with me …

Few days ago I’ve had the opportunity to audition the more expensive Dali Epicon floor standing and very expensive class d nad amp .

The sound stage is so boring that I believe the person whom buys this knows what he likes and doesn’t care about price .

In my opinion the sound is too sterile and not enough bass punch .

My dream setup would be 2 SVS or REL with Chinese Hifi . Wiim etc . For a fraction of the price .

Many other amps too, of course …

To day you can probably find 200 watt amp for fair sum .

Interesting. 2 REL subs and Chinese hifi would be pretty much my idea of audio hell.

The Dali's are good-it was probably the NAD amp causing the issues.

I doubt there is a problem with either amp mentioned in the posts above.

Sound stage is baked into the recording - you can however do all sorts of things to make it as poor as possible - I can only guess the speakers are probably fine if correctly set up in the right room.

The sound stage is so boring

There's no such thing as a boring soundstage. Either the reproduction was accurate to the recording or it wasn't. With SOTA gear like the Dalis and high end NAD, there's no reason to think it was innacurate so if it sounded 'boring' then it was probably the room or the recording.

Which NAD amplifier and which Epicon floor-standing speaker did you listen to?

Blame the room, the speakers and your preference, not the amp!
The listing room is professional acoustic treatment. It’s ny local dealer.

Nad pre and power combo with Oberon 9 in same room sounds amazing.

The speakers are probably too neutral for my taste. Excellent off axis speakers. This is something Dali is known for.

What kind of speakers and amplifier do you listen with at home?
I’ve always liked the Dyn-sound .

Soft treble and warm smooth bass texture and excellent neutral midrange.

Evoke 20-AS701. Is what I’ve got at the moment .

Currently debating whether to invest in either one high level sub or low level one.
