Can anyone explain HiFiMan's product strategy?

He400se = $149
He400i v2020 = $169
He400i = $449
Sundara = $499

How is anyone supposed to know how to pick one, especially from the he400 triplets?

Really driving me towards Dan Clark Audio.

Well if you can afford the Dan Clark Audio Aeon then it’s a no brainer to spend money on Hifiman due to quality of the product.

You don't know which one to get, so you purchase all of them :cool:

And for 350 I cant recommend the Sundarada enough. It has a very pleasing sound, non-fatiguing signature. The bass doesnt slam hard but the extension is very good.

I paid ~$600 for my HE560V1s in 2015. Thought I was getting a deal....
You were. Just a bad one

(but the 560 is a very easy headphone, easy like Sunday morning)

Yes, the many, many, many 400 models are utterly bonkers. Things get far more linear after that.

Except they keep the 560s in the range like a much loved but slightly incontinent uncle that comes for christmas and never leaves.

I still think they are superior to the HD800s, the other headphone I was considering buying. They sound great with the 2 kHz dip filled in on my ADI-2 DAC.

Just installed replacement ear pads from Dekoni. Outrageously priced at $80, but we'll see how they sound and hold up....

I put some dekoni Fostex leather jobs on mine as my second hand pair pads disintegrated. Cushty.

This is exactly why review sites like this and rtings.com exist. To help you cut the wheat from the chaff, so to speak.

I think their xxx products are previous generation and they are moving towards names like Sundara for current generation.

I purchased the Sundara headphones based on price, comfort, soundstage and overall sound quality. I haven't regretted the decision at all. Highly recommend them.

And the '$64 question' ' why?
75mm drivers?
Great objective measurements somewhere? (That I can't find)
No hype about 'nano diaphrams' or 'stealh magnets.?
A 2015 design?

Why over HE4XX?

April 1 st?
