Hello. Not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I am new to ASR. I recently purchased a Hifiman Serenade ( not the wireless version) to begin my headphone journey. I have an Ethernet cable plugged in, but the only way I have been able to connect to stream Tidal is through Airplay or the USB port, and both of those stubbornly remain at 44.1. Is there another way to connect to stream from Tidal? Do I have to purchase a separate streamer that will allow me to log into my Tidal account?

Hi, and welcome
I'm not familiar with the Serenade, but you can certainly just add a WiiM Mini (around £90) to get bit-perfect hi-res streaming from Tidal over WiFi into the optical input. The App is good, and it just works.

Alternatively, you can't really hear a difference above 16/44.1 anyway so you could just relax and enjoy the music.

Apologies - wasn't thinking. The option of using a WiiM Mini still stands, they are great.

However, if you've already tried a USB connection - what source are you using? Most external sources (laptop?) should give you hi-res

I started with my iPhone, then went to my laptop. I ordered a wiim today, I’ll give it a chance. Thanks for the advice!

Oddly enough, my iPhone/Mojo 2 sounds better to me through my LCD 3, than the serenade does. That’s why I think I’m going something wrong.

The wiim is a definite improvement. Thanks.
