Hifiman international warranty

Does anyone know what the position is with Hifiman warranty for orders from abroad?

I am looking at purchasing a pair of headphones in the US and bringing them back to the UK. However what happens if I then need a warranty claim, would I need to ship them back to the US or is there a Hifiman representative in the UK who could then deal with the warranty.

As a HiFiman owner (and I paid full price!), I would avoid buying HiFiMan headphones for all sorts of reasons, one of which is the likelihood that you’ll need to make a warranty claim.

Without a UK service centre, you'd have a problem - sending anything in and out off the country is expensive and bureaucratically painful.

Look for a company with a UK presence of some sort - there are plenty!

Problem is that the Hifiman Arya Organic is the only Open-back Planar that I have found which has realistic (fluid) female vocals, Others like the Fiio FT7 are just very 'dry'. However, the Arya Organic still has this 1.5-2 khz hole in the FR.

How many 'phones have you ABX tested on your DAC or amp?
I'm sure there must be something available that sounds good on your ears (not that I can suggest anything).

OK, I did not read that, and I assume all blind ABX - but those 'phones are all a bit "boutiquey" for me!

How do you ABX headphones? Surely the physical feel of each set is different from the others. Won't this invalidate an ABX test?

As a Hifiman owner, my 3 headphones of 3 years are still stellar, never and issue

Even S-Class Mercs have issues and need repairs. More important is how it was handled by seller/manufacturer

How do you ABX headphones? Surely the physical feel of each set is different from the others. Won't this invalidate an ABX test?

I use a cheap 3 way changeover switch. I set my media player to repeat a passage, slip different, pre-connected phones on and press the switch to select the current phones. It's much better and faster than unplugging phones in turn, but you have to try to volume match on the DAC. It's obviously not perfect, and it's not blind, but I can tell phones sound different. If I wasn't lazy I could get a half minute of music and produce 3 versions of if at different volumes in Audacity to suit each headphone and play as a playlist, just to change headphones without trying to fiddle with DAC volume knob. I don't have a means to independently distribute the same sounds simultaneously to multiple headphones, but that's one way of doing it.

My point is that unless you try all the headphones from the same source in rapid succession, you won't be making a half-decent comparison - there's little value in testing on different days, or even hours apart, as your brain/ears change the perception.
