Henry Engineering Matchbox HD vs Tascam LA-80 MKii or other for RCA to XLR

Hi!
So I recently tried the Art Cleanbox Pro and it was anything but clean. It added hiss to my signal which was not acceptable.
I basically want to cover my bedlayer speakers with an RCA to XLR converter that can boost the usual 6db loss of a dummy cable.
My top 2 choices right now are the Henry Engineering Matchbox HD ands Tascam LA-80 MKii (or maybe original if its similar).
Anyone has experienced with the latter specially (since the Matchbox was reviewed by Amir here) ?

I have been using two Tascam LA-40MKIII to convert Pro-Audio DSP to consumer levels and vice versa. The TASCAM units are designed for Professional/broadcast use and give you +-/12dB of trim in addition to the level change. The noise floor is very low and I measured the frequency responses and they are very flat in the 20Hz-20KHz pass band.
