Good Evening Everyone. So, I looking at Audio interfaces again. I was going to buy one about 3 years ago but, now am ready to buy on to use as a phantom power for a measuring Microphone. Which ones do you recommend? How much do I need to spend to get a decent and quite Audio interface? Am not trying to make a living off and use it for my own personal needs. I know there has been some reviews but, you guys have first time experiences that I don’t have. i will be using the Rew program for now. Thanks Jeff

A lot depends on your needs and preferences. A Focusrite 2x2 is a great place to start, as is a small Motu or Tascam. I've used all of them and would recommend them for beginner use cases -- good audio quality, easy to use, works directly over USB with no drivers, etc.

It gets harder if, say, you need a high-power headphone amplifier or want to do all balanced audio. But honestly, if you're starting out, get the obvious beginner ones, and use that to learn when and where you have preferences. It's a cheap way to learn.
