So, a friend is helping me measure and run the A1 Evo script, I have the UMIK-2 mic, my setup:

Fronts: Paradigm Founder 80F
Center: Paradigm Founder 70LCR
Surround: SVS Ultra Evolution Nano
Subs: Dual SB-3000
Marantz Cinema 50

I'm using the following settings in REW v5.40 Beta 73:

I measured 75db on the Center for reference before I started measuring using Pink Noise - Speaker Calibration. Then my friend told me that for the Subs, I need to set the volume to 85db, not 75db. He said I should do this because at 75db the subwoofer sweep is barely audible and won't provide an exact measurement, but I'm not sure if this is correct.

Anyway, I measured 85db on both subs using Pink Noise - Sub Cal preset and proceeded to measure all speakers. I set the "Use acoustic timing reference" setting to ensure distances are measured correctly, and they were, for all speakers, except for Sub 2 which is located on the left side of the front stage.

I then ran the Dirac 6db/8db curves, and also DrToole. In all 3, Sub 1 was identified with a distance of 3m, and Sub 2 with 6m+.

After finishing all 3 curves, I got the following results

Dirac 6db

He also told me that after the script finishes, I should add 10db to each sub in MultEQ app before sending the calibration to the AVR, to compensate for the low levels assigned by the script, so I don't understand why not just measure the subs to 75db as well instead of 85db? When I ran the measurements, I made sure to only have one sub powered on so that each sub was measured separately. All other speakers measured great at 75db.

Long story short, can you guys please help me understand the following:

1. What are the optimal REW settings for measuring all speakers and the subwoofers?
2. Should I measure subs at 75 or 85 db?

I have the log files of all 3 scripts, if needed.

Thanks a lot!
