Need some help: just got some Infinity P362 speakers in great condition. The only problem is I'm not getting any highs out of them. Given that the problem is exactly the same for both channels I'm thinking (hoping) the problem is something in my setup and not a hardware issue. I tested my amp with headphone to make sure there was no problem there and everything sounded fine.

Here is the routing for the MiniDSP. I don't see any problems here but maybe there is something I'm doing wrong. All the crossovers, filters, etc are bypassed. I've tried it with both the toslink and USB inputs and the problem is the same.

First guess, the tweeters are dead.

Second guess is there is a miss-setting in the miniDSP.

Show the Outputs screen.

Outputs are here
If I play test tones like at 7k, 10k, I still hear output, but obviously it is much lower than the rest of the output. Maybe the crossovers are bad?

They are all bypassed as far as I can see.

That all looks good - should be passing full range sound.

Play the 7kHz tone.

Put your ear to the speaker.

Is what you hear coming from the tweeter or from the driver below the tweeter?

Have you removed the entire MiniDSP from your setup and just ran a straight frequency sweep into it?

Well, make that "above or below" the tweeter...

If you can't tell, use the measurement mic to locate the sound while RTA window is active.

Just tried that and it's definitely coming from the midrange and not the tweeter.

Guessing blown tweeters if both sound the same.

Less likely to me for two speaker crossovers to fail equally.

Even less likely the tweeters have become unplugged somehow.

Last guess is in the Dirac part, with which I am not familiar. Look there if you can.

Maybe power off the miniDSP for 10 seconds. It could have lost its mind. Retry.

Sigh...

Take the speaker cables off the speaker.

Get a 9V battery if you have one and touch repeatedly across the speaker leads. 1.5v will probably do if no 9V.

The tweeter should "click" if operating at all.

As midrange to tweeter XO is at 3300Hz from your measurements they certainly look fried.

I'm gonna run to the store and get an RCA to 3.5mm cable so I can test the output straight from the laptop.

Tried the 9V battery thing. Woofers move but I don't think I'm getting anything from the tweeters.

Pull out a tweeter.

See if it was unplugged.

Unplug it and use the battery trick or measure the voice coil with an ohmmeter (just to rule out the crossover)

If the tweeter tests "good" then crossover.

Pulled a tweeter and tried this, absolutely nothing from the tweeter.

just got some Infinity P362 speakers in great condition.

Can you return them?

I'm not finding any replacement tweeters or substitutes...

Only a repair/rebuild for $100.

Since I bought them on eBay I shouldn't have a problem returning them, so yeah. Guess I'll have to do that then. What a bummer. Thanks for all the help though, I really appreciate it.

Giving shipping costs etc. - you might try negotiating a (large) partial refund with the seller where you keep them. Even though the original tweeters are not available, I'll bet with a bit of digging you can find JBl, Revel or other Infinity substitutes..

I bought them locally so I wouldn't have to ship them (just an hour drive). I do like them though, so I might just see if I can get a partial refund to cover repair costs and send the tweeters to https://reconingspeakers.com/product/infinity-primus-tweeter-4-ohms/
