Help with fomo - JBL 4645C Subwoofer

Hey, it seems nearly impossible to remove the cabinet, no matter what i try. Seems like the brown material between the cab and woofer is tightly bound with some adhesive. Or maybe the brown material is a part of the woofer and should come along with it. Either ways it won’t come easily. As you see in photos there is a very slight gap btw the brown material and woofer frame. But the gap between the brown material and cab/enclosure is non existent. It almost flush. What shall i do?

In the video @g_t_r shared(which i have seen before itself), the brown material is a part of the woofer. But i have seen someone else on AVS where they removed it without that

I think that exactly - the brown material is a part of the woofer...

it definitely is

I pulled the driver out of my 4645 (just curious...and uhm, for 2269 swap assessment) and just used a sharp putty knife to seperate the cork ring from the baffle. It only needed a gently pry to get it started - it loosened up and popped right out, IRCC. (The above video shows that the cork gasket is not rabbetted into a groove in the baffle.)
so your cork gasket sticked right on to the 4645 enclosure and you could just take out the woofer? is that what you said?

see it wasn't that hard to remove it , so do you have a multi-meter to check ohm impedance ? also can use 1.5v bat and test forward cone motion

Sooty and Magic wondering what is going on and start sniffing the 4645c

driver isn’t blown, thats for sure. Maybe the spider is out of alignment or something….i don’t really know. Have contacted harman tech support for warranty claim and they will revert soon. They will work on getting it rectified.

But can you hear any strange noise from transducer/driver itself?
whether its from the woofer or the enclosure….it is the hardest part. When something doesn’t sound alright we suspect the woofer but i have a very high guess that it’s something from the enclosure.. mostly from the ports

I have inspected inside the cab nothing seems off. I mean, its a brand new product, barely even a month old.
But shit happens so yeah

Even the service center guys are confused. They have told me this is the first time they have encountered with this kind of a case. They really don’t know how to proceed with this and are waiting for a followup from higher authorities.

there's no strange noises other than the soundtrack reproduction in Dolby THX

Crown xti 4002, gain knob 3 notches below from max
Bridge mono mode, 2400W into 8 ohms
20hz BW Hpf @24db/oct
80Hz BW Lpf @24db/oct
Limiter set to -2dbfs(translates roughly to 1600w, aiming for program power)

Although the limiter is set, i never exceeded -10 to -8db in the output. That means max under 500-600W for my use(over estimated)

Signal fed by a denon avr x7200w @-10db.
Mostly reference volumes (not 0MV, mostly -10db Master volume but bass peaks in movies hit in the range of 105-115db in MLP Z weighted)

Some may say its loud, but trust me, its loud only when you crank way more than this and your speakers are producing a lot of spl. My speakers stay always under 85-90db, thats the spl in MLP A weighted.

Once gain my previous consumer subs had zero issues with my requirement and it performed admirably. Not even a bit of distortion. And, no one buys subs like 4645C to listen it very quiet. This thing is meant for high spl.

I couldn't afford a 2269 (even used, though those are highly suspect, as many of them went into car systems), so haven't attempted it. (yet).
I'd sure love to hear from anyone who has swapped them out.

did this last no year at the deafening odeon bh2 screen 9 , controversial dolby 7.1 deafening dune 2 x2 JBL 5628 x4 2269H
peek behind almost the screen , i need additional lighting to see ( 5min 56sec )

sand worms rumbled deeply felt in the 2nd row seating , learning forwards to check the bass or sub bass/LFE.1 to see if illusion , but not kidding need to take earplugs to this lousy cinema and be in for disappointment as the LCR to surrounds level balance is atrociously bad , odeon like to think they have THX , not even near or close , its okay but need those earplugs as the screen HF horns is just ridiculously unsafe dB deafening due to those lousy now rubbish hollywood re-recording mixes , earplugs

Yep, 2269H has over 6db of output below 60hz and almost 10db lower distortion. My god i can just imagine. I remember watching insterstellar with my 4645C and felt my room would tear apart

No deal really, our local theatre here uses 3x 5628 under the screen wall. This is the most basic theatre here in our locality
