Help with choosing amp with Edition xs

Hey guys, I’ve finally pulled the trigger on getting my first hifi setup, originally I’ve bought the edition xs and Fosi sk02, however just after I started shipping them from China, I read somewhere that I needed to have way more power than what was on the sk02 if I want to keep it unbalanced. My question is, will the Fiio gigas work fine with being the amp? If so I’ll buy that, it’s about the same price as a half decent balanced cable (thought I am not a firm believer of cable shenanigans), and the sk02 delivers 1100mw on 32ohm on high gain with bal out.

Really need someone who’s had their fair share of experience to help me out, whether I should chain the sk02 and the Fiio gigas together through aux out or if I should buy balanced wire and use the highest gain and maybe save up for a zh3

A more powerful Amp does not improve sound quality in any way.

But if the weaker Amp audibly distorts before you can get it loud enough, then yeah upgrading the Amp makes sense.

That is to say:
Try the stock 3.5mm cable first. If it plays loud enough and there's no obvious distortion, then there'll be no point in switching cables or Amps.

Hey, appreciate the reply,was just thinking of buying something now as I have a shipment going from China to Aus, Fiio gigas costs quite a bit cheaper in China, with that said I might try it without first. with that said, in your opinion, if I were to get the amp, would a more expensive cable make for any noticeable improvement when connecting them together?

Oh yea also, if I connect another amp to the sk02, that unit functions as a dac and a preamp correct?

Unless the cable is defective, a more expensive one won't do anything.
