Help to a setup to make me feel better

He guys,
Just an update, got the wharfedales and Yamaha in and hooked. Very happy so far. On the hunt for a DAC to use with an old iPhone 11. Reading that the Apple one is great but will have to try. Thanks for all the help so far.
Which Yamaha?

He staticV3 thanks for your feedback you make me laugh, I'm back where I started, maybe I should just get one for the hell of it. I remember having seen people recommending a Wiim pro and using the DAC from that because it's higher quality........?

WiiM Pro comes with same DAC as one in A-S701 the old PCM5121 BurrBrown now TI. While it's not great DAC it will do just fine and more so if it's integrated one (no additional connection penalty in added noise).

It's the WiiM Pro Plus that has a higher quality DAC inside.

Still, it's unlikely that you'll hear a difference compared to the Yamaha's built-in DAC.

I’d suggest the Wiim Ultra with HDMI eARC and 12v trigger. For TV use, that trigger will turn on the amp when you turn on the TV

Just a short app date. Using an ol iPhone as a source. I bought on Amazon a cheap lightning to mini jack out (I assume there is a DAC in it, no brand/details) and a lighting in to keep the phone charged. Sounds amazing to me, way better than Bluetooth. For now this will do for me. Maybe one day they make the Apple TV a more suitable option.
