Got the X2HRs in today and did a bunch of tests, eqd and turns out it literally a tad bit more base than the DT990s, going to return them and look into closed backs from now on.
if the dt990s are a 5/10 on bass the x2hrs are a 6/10.

Thats interesting and kind of why ratings and reviews are pointless, it's personal preference always.

I wouldn't overlook the audio technica m50x either. They are a nice headphone for bass, even bass heads like them yet they are considered a studio monitor.

There was a guy on YouTube called the average consumer, he loved them and was a proper bass head, think Beats and boom boom subwoofers. I think his absolute favourites were big sonys though, the ones from the entry level range with large cups, you should be able to get a good deal on those as well if your ultimate goal is big bass over everything.
