Good day, everyone
What kind of amplifier would you recommend for Blade 2 Meta speakers.
Application is for music is for hi definition SACD symphony orchestra music, rock and action and sci-fi 4K movies with lots of dynamic range!

Used to A - AB amplification but want to explore digital amplifiers

Class D amplifier I presume. There are a lot of great options, though I'm not confident you will hear a difference unless your present amplifier has high output impedance and/or insufficient power to play at the maximum volume you want.

For those speakers, I would look at amplifiers using Hypex or Purify amplifier modules. I have a Hypex Nilai amplifier that I really like.

How many Blades?

Digital amps? Class D isn't particularly digital if that's what you're referring to. I'd simply look for an amp capable of lower impedance at the wattage range you want with your budget. Is the amp box aesthetic a thing or not for you? Type of content you listen to is generally irrelevant, too. I'd probably go with a good high powered class D power amp or are you looking for an integrated amp or ?

How large of a room and distance from the MLP, are you using a sub, and as @Kal Rubinson asked, how many speakers?

As Tineared mentioned, get the Purifi 9040BA’s (to be fair Hypes also makes great class D amplifiers)

If I had the scratch for a pair of KEF Blade 2’s (my dream speakers), I would get a pair of these amplifiers:

Or if you live in the USA and went to save a lot of money:

I’m sure the Buckeye’s are audibly identical to the much more expensive Apollons, but they sure are an eye sore.

If you’re dead set on A or AB amplification, I would go with Benchmark or Bryston

The latest Purifi modules in a substantial cases if you're wanting Class D. If you're going another route, Benchmark.
Will Benchmark have enough power? Or do I need to use them as monoblocks?

Yeah... Don't expect a difference in "sound quality".

Class-A is "A" because it was the first. In the old days it was cheaper because A/B requires one more tube/transistor/MOSFET in the output stage. It's energy inefficient so they tend to generate lots of wasted heat even when only putting-out a few watts.

Your speakers are rated up to 400W and it you want a 400W amplifier, class-D makes the most sense. It's the most efficient* and the most economical per-watt.

...You probably don't "need" 400W to go loud enough in a home environment.

* Class-D may not be be more efficient than Class A/B when idle or at low power. They both require a certain amount of power just to "run".

I haven't heard the recent offerings from class d amps. The ATI 542 is a 500 wpc hypex nc. Personally I did find the original Blades to be sensitive to source, especially at low volume and went with the MC611's from Mac. might be overkill, but speakers dynamics are very good even at low volume.
