So the upgrading bug is striking again and I am looking to change my setup from KEF LS50 first generation.
I am considering Revel Performa Be or Paradigm Persona?

I am considering Revel Performa Be or Paradigm Persona?

Based on measurements I've seen, the Revel Performa Be are state of the art, while Personas are not so good.

Have you considered active? A full Genelec Ones theater would be tough to beat at any price.

Between those two, definitely Revel PerformaBe. Those are one of the best passive options at any price.

How many channels are you doing, and what is the room like?

Paradigm Persona is going to sound more like Bowers & Wilkens or Sonus Faber than Revel or even KEF. The sound signature is completely different--tipped up treble and bass generally.

Aren't Sonus Faber generally rolled off on the top end? B&W I agree with.

Well I think the response tends to rise at the higher frequencies, but their tweeters have some weird gaps in the lower highs so its an inconsistent response if anything from what I've seen.

The room is 18” x 17” x 10” I know definitely not ideal, but that is what I have to work with. The ceiling is treated so vertical absorption is good! I use heavy drapes to cover the large bay windows especially at night while watching 4K Blumovies or streaming!

I have a 10 feet wide screen and looking to do a 9.2.6 system, so I need 9 new speakers!

Due to windows, doors and fireplace I unfortunately cannot use in wall speakers otherwise I would use JBL Synthesis or KEF THX in wall! The thing I am not sure about with Revel Performa Be are the white drivers!! With front projection system not ideal!

Are you looking for 9 towers? Or some tower and the rest in wall/ in wall?

ATMOS going to be same brand?

I can’t put any speakers in walls unfortunately! In ceiling yes for ATMOS or DTS:X.

So I am thinking either floor standing or two way bookshelf on stands?

One of my question is should all speakers be the same to have the best acoustically match?
Or should I get the best for the front and stand mount for the back?

I would definitely get a center channel, I could go either way with FL/FR, but probably floorstanding, and standmount for the others in a room that size.

Do the fronts go behind an acoustically transparent screen?

No the front goes under the screen I have 41” clearance, I like to have all the same speakers for the three fronts! Also I plan on getting at least two subs maybe three?
