Help me pick a great SACD player.

I like it a lot. It has been great since the first day back in July 2020.

This would be far better than waiting for a second hand player. Marantz only warranties the original purchaser.

Depending on where you are, the Ruby may not be available (I've not seen any new in Australia for years).
But the SA12SE which is available measures looks and measures almost identically according to HiFI News so should also be on your list. The Ruby is also a modified SA12 (the original was only available in Japan).
Also, it appears that the SACD30n measures better (for what it's worth). I didn't like the ergonomics, but that's a personal thing.
