I currently have an old Yamaha RX-A3010 to drive a couple of stereo outdoor speakers (Definitive Technology AW6500) on my terrace, basically the roof of the building I live in, to which I have exclusive access.
I attach the power specs page from its manual.
It currently works but it's big and bulky. Remote control through the Yamaha app is handy and I connect to it a Raspberry with Lyrion Music Server playback capabilities, plus a bluetooth receiver (so basically any guest can stream music to it) connected through optical.
Since it has its years and I don't want to be "caught with my pants down", in case of hardware failure, so I'm investigating alternatives.
One that I'm considering is a WiiM Pro as source (it will remain to see whether its Bluetooth receiver will be strong enough for the whole terrace but the WiiM has Optical in, so I could keep on using the one I already have if WiiM's doesn't offer enough range), plus a stereo amplifier, such as this Audiophonics MPA-S250NC.
These are the specs for the speakers:
Would the Audiophonics amp offer comparable performance to the current, in use, Yamaha (specs in the attached PDF)? I am satisfied with current performance (which basically means plenty loud enough, without distortion, not much more, considering the typical use during parties).
