Help me decide if I should resubscribe to Sterophile. Seriously.

Years ago when my dad was alive he was complaining about Rush Limbaugh. I asked him, "Then why do you listen to him". He said, "To get mad."
But mostly Rush was right. :p

There could be an old product that's better than anything else and it gets ignored and forgotten unless the manufacturer brings-out a new version.
Could be, that's why we have the measurements. ;)
Time does march on and we can too.

Haven't seen it for less than $10 for a while, so no more paper subscription since those days.
Sure but you'll pay $75 each for audiophile fuses. LOL JK

So the question of the day remains in my signature,
Back in the day we had a bunch of really decent quality print media sources like Audio, High Fidelity, Stereo Review, Peter Aczel's Audio Critic,

"How is it possible, how did it ever happen, that they trust fairy-tail purveyors and mystic gurus more than reliable sources of scientific information? "Peter Aczel"

As intelligent and successful as a large number of these folks were, they lacked common sense and the street smarts to separate the snake-oil BS from the real world .
Sadly they came out of the dark ages and used what tools they had to develop a hokey new religion to light the way.
"I heard it, so it is so".

That would be a bunch of years ago there. ;)

I subscribed to Sterophile for decades. I found it interesting and the reviews had some relevance to me, i.e., some of the gear was affordable for me. And I like the music reviews.
I've loved publications and periodicals all my adult love.
I used to keep a running tab to know exactly when to re-subscribe again, so that I'd would not get double issues and all of the other vigilante tactics for rock-bottom subscription prices, for decades.
Then, in the 21st century, weird things started occurring in that whole print industry:
Local newspapers disappearing, monthly periodicals going quarterly or fizzing away, trying to push their digital-content to... page flippers!
But the one that started really annoying me was when mail-subscriptions stopped putting the expiration dates, along with the delivery ("To:") address, so you never really knew, when to renew the magazine/periodical.
--------------------------------
I've been using "DiscountMagazine" website for years, and some of my subscriptions were running out.
I logged in to renew few magazine (including Stereophile, etc.) but ran across something very disturbing, and [imo] seems like the old napster fracas.

@klettermann, before I go any further; STOP your subscriptions.

Discountmags now offers something called magzter that encompasses what they insist is digital access to over 10,000 publications.
1/2/3 year full-access reader (device-agnostic) to all you could eat read anything/anytime/anywhere, you please.
Price is $99.99 for 3-years but my distrust forced me to get it for 2-years/$74.99 version. gulp!
It is absolutely amazing and mind-boggling to me! At least 6 different pubs for audio.... including audioXpress.
