Help me convert old speakers to actives

Thank you!
Indeed, DSP set up will be my next challenge. I feel OK on crossover frequencies and slopes, but I will need lots of help on directivity, time alignment, phase and Linqwitz Transform. VituixCAD is also challenging for me.

Really interesting project, I'm looking forward to see how it turns out.

Also, purely for aesthetics, I really like the black panel for the drivers, I've always liked the way that looks, together with a wood finish.

Really good work!
Will you do me a favor and find a way to hide screws? At least at the woofers.
There's lots of ways to do it and it would be one of those details that stick out sometimes.

(up to taste of course, it's your speakers)

Odd how we're all different, but I hate hidden fasteners, as it makes repairs that much more difficult, especially in the absence of a Service Manual when it's not obvious how to open up something. It's one of the things that has annoyed me in recent years with clip-together stuff. I like to see well finished screws, or obvious split-lines so equipment can be opened up without damage.

Its not hard at all if one wants to hide the very screws or the whole ring if planned.
For screws for example:

There's gazzilions of them, a simple search for screw covers returns anything you can imagine.

One that would want to take it a step further would attached them to a thin, curved same color wooden ring and just stick it on the screws, you can take it off any time you like (like Asci's for example)

Doesn't take much, just a little planning.

Edit: ring example link.

I like the tech look of good screw heads on drivers, but I plan internal screws for the baffle. There will be no additional visible screws on the baffle. It will be screwed on from the inside (plus glue).

Not sure how to hide screws on the drivers - too little space. The only thing I can think of is a covering ring, but that is difficult to source/make and fit nicely. Some (usually expensive) drivers have cosmetic rings as part of the kit.

Have a look at the link I posted above, there's hundreds of rings if you search, courtesy of car audio.

I prefer nice fastener heads to show...on purpose. Not the cheap sh.. but quality ones. I also despise the driver ring trend.

Thank you, Serge! Seeing (and hearing) your speakers many years ago was part of the inspiration. I am happy finally doing it.
