Help me choose new subwoofer

Hello guys, my sub sunfire sds 12in burned out after 6 years of good service, now I need to buy a new subwoofer and I would appreciate your help in choosing one, I prefer using an app to help with fine-tuning.



My system is:

Cambridge cxa81 + cxn v2

Bookshelf b&w 606 s2

Room with 20 square meters and I just listen rock and metal in flac streamer on moderate to high volume, not super high.


I have this options here in Brazil:


Svs sb1000pro

Rel t7/x

Velodyne - / impact x12 / viq-10 / deep blue 12in / deep waves 12

Spearkercraft – hrsi 12in

Kef – kc62 / kc92

Of your list, the only subs we have objective data on are the SB1000Pro and KC62.

Of these, the SVS is much more capable. It's also more capable than the KF92.

The KEF Kube 10B is about on par with the SVS, perhaps with that you can guesstimate how the KC92 would compare.

I happen to have pairs of KC62 and SB1000 at home. Unless small size is your top priority you should get the SB1000. The app is pretty good and the sub itself does a good job in a smaller room.

Kef kube is much more cheaper than svs, Is he as good as SVS? I have option of kef kube 10, 12 or 15inch with little price difference.

Its just to listen stereo music, not use for movies

as long as a subwoofer is good it can be used for either music and movie. There is no such "musical sub" (something REL has been marketing)
with that said I have no measurement of Kube 12 MIE. I have one and it seems to do its job

IMO If Kube 12 is cheaper than SB1000 in your area it's probably a good option. I'm in the US so I was able to get SB1000 (white gloss, retail +$100 over black) for around $450 from an open box deal. At that price it's solid.

Yes the kef kube 12 mie is the half of price of svs sb1000pro, if its good i think ill give it a try
