TL;DR - Please help me choose a floor stander for under 1000 euro a pair. DIY is a possibility.

So, after searching the internet, this forum and whatever else I could come up with in my quest to get the best possible speakers within my budget - I am now more confused than ever.

Please help me out.

I have a living room that is a bit over 25 m^2 (around 270 square feet) and with around 3 meters to the ceiling. In this living room there is a TV with truly shit sound, as well as a big ass table where on occasion guests arrive to have dinner and be force fed whatever music I have recently fallen in love with. Also from time to time I will sit down and listen to music, with an insane mix of genres within one sitting.

Now I want to get a sound system for this living room and I would like to start with speakers before deciding on the rest.

Total price here in Europe should not be over 1000 euro for a pair.
Im fan of floorstanders (out of old habit more than any scientific reasons).
I really love to hear what people are saying in movies.
I also like clear, powerful and distinct bass in music; but my neighbors don't appreciate their windows shattering whenever Thanos blows something up.
Oh, DIY could be an option if there are good kits - I have the tools (and skills) for the cabinets but suck at soldering.
Speakers that are available in White or Oak finish get a gold star. Two gold stars if they have some nice, non boxy details (I love the Heissman Acoustics angled fronts).

So far my main contenders are
Triangle Borea BR08 - Never heard them live, just found out about them on this forum.
Dali Oberon (5 or 7) - I know they get a bit of hate around here, but I always liked the Dali speakers I had the chance to listen to (and they are quite inexpensive around here).
Heissman DXT-Mon Stand - I love the look but I also feel like two drivers seems like at least one to little.

Considering I just spent two years living out of a van with this as my only sound system I really do need an upgrade. I'm sure there are a bunch of other awesome options that I don't even know about yet, please enlighten me!

For reference the 806's measurements, horizontally, at least, are nearly identical to Amir's measurement of the Aria 906 so you can basically look at that review too. I actually think the Chora has a hair more bass though.

If you DIY anyway could integrate a subwoofer into this speaker. I'm pretty sure it doesn't utilize all the volume that is available in this box.

e: Oh and Troels has quite a few non-boxy speakers http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/

For example http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/SBA-741.htm

http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/CNO-4.htm

e: Sorry these are all much too expensive.

Is there any specific reason to go over 11.4's over the 11.5's? (Other than price)

Nothing actually. Just the price :)

Drivers seem to be well engineered. You don't see shorting sleeves in budget line of speakers often

Wanted to thank everyone for their input. I'm currently leaning towards breaking the bank and going for a pair of Chora 826. But we will see, still have 2-3 months before having to make a final decision.

Why PM ? If the prices are right, the info shouldn't be hidden.

Don't know about his case, but often dealers do not want to publish their offer prices directly in the web as they can get in trouble with the distributor, importer or even brand as many of them want all dealers to sell at the same recommended list price.

Ok here we go.. this was provided to me by a fellow ASR forum member when I was on the hunt for Focal Aria 948's...

You have several mainstream generalist mass retailers:

https://www.boulanger.com/resultats?tr=focal+aria+948
https://www.fr.fnac.be/Enceinte-col....ds&oref=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000

Then some more specialized
https://www.homecinesolutions.fr/p/...PX3vZj2tOo0bBuN_FXlO2lJCPrhmP1sYaAnipEALw_wcB
https://www.cobra.fr/recherche/focal+aria+948

And even some "serious" HiFi specialists (look for "Demo" hardware then)
https://www.stassen.nl/luidsprekers...IpIpLisoMhXEWR3UZ7RSirpHNMffjsPYaAooAEALw_wcB
https://www.galerieduson.com/wp/promotions-et-occasions/promotions-du-mois/
(Special month action, pair for 2400€ including 21% VAT)

Stassen is a great (but still small) shop in the Netherlands
Cobra is a specialized discounter in Paris

I also know of a Focal dealer in France who communicates over Whatsapp and payment is via Paypal. I know a guy in Canada who ordered from him. However in the end I wasn't comfortable with buyer protections given I'm in Australia. PM me if you want his name and phone number.

Just wanted to thank you for the contact information. Even though I'm in Austria and the speakers are available from a bunch of big retailers around here (mediamarkt etc) some of the french ones instantly offered a better price. So it looks like your help might save me a bit of cash :)
