Hello folks,
I'm struggling finding the appropriate setup for my gears , so i'm asking for your expertise, here is the situation:
My desktop is composed of a PS5, a NUC8 a Switch 2, a monitor (to be replaced soon) and a pair of DIY speakers 2 voices with active crossover and equalisation done today with a Beocreate amp/DSP from hifiberry.
Today my gears are all connected to a HDMI splitter sending the HDMI output to the monitor and the sound via Optical to the beocreate board.
Everything is fine but i would like to change my monitor to something great for the PS5, but the HDMI splitter limit the display quality and prevent from the VRR and other fancy stuff.

I really need to have a digital crossover for the speakers but cannot spend thousands on a pre-amp and power amplifiers and moreover, space on the desktop is quite limited, so what are my options?

I'm not sure I understand the topology, but if everything is great except you want a better monitor and can't owning to your splitter, is there no option of a better splitter too?

TVs tend to have optical sound output, so when it comes time to replace the monitor, maybe consider a TV. Should solve your sound problem and have plenty of HDMI input. If a size of 42 or 48 inches can work in your space, I can recommend the LG B/C series OLED for gaming and general PC use. 120/144hz, VRR, HDR are all working nicely. It doesn't need connected to the network and can boot to straight to HDMI in PC/game mode. There are smaller TVs too. Though I haven't looked into them, you should be able to find some with decent gaming features if not OLED panels.
