There is a dutch 8c now, its firmware version is 1.3.2. I want to upgrade this firmware, but after connecting to the Internet, using the web management (http://8c-xxx) or lanspeaker.com cannot detect the firmware that can be upgraded. Moreover, the current version cannot use the Assend APP, and there is no RMS. I can't access the page: https://support.dutchdutch.com/, it prompts a 502 error.

So I don't know if there is a way to manually upgrade the firmware or other methods to update the speaker to the latest firmware.

Please help me.

RMS shows you which firmware versions are available, make sure the Ascend app is also current.

By checking the official documentation, RMS is only supported in firmware version 1.4. This version is currently too low.

The official support form has also been filled in, and I would like to seek help from the forum, hoping to solve the problem more quickly.

Have you actually tried?

First of all, the Ascend app cannot discover the device. The reason should be that it is only supported in the 2.0 firmware version. I don't see a firmware upgrade available in (lanspeaker.com).

I have contacted the official support and they replied that I need to download Ascend for Windows or Mac. They can operate remotely and should be able to solve the problem. I will reply to the post with the results later. Thanks to everyone for their help.

I downloaded the official support software, but after clicking Start, an error message appears. You can still link to 8c’s using web management

For the update from pre-RMS (1.3) to RMS (1.4 / 2.x) the speakers need a complete system update. This update (169MB) is automatically downloaded in the background and when it's ready to install an option should appear in lanspeaker.

I see in the server logs that both speakers have started the download several times, I can't tell for sure what's happening but I suspect the speakers simply haven't been left on for long enough for the download to complete. We've noticed that download speeds from our server to China can unfortunately be quite slow.

Try just leaving your speakers on and connected to the internet for a while.

It's great to receive your reply, and I really appreciate it. If we can confirm that version 1.3.2 can be automatically updated and the issue is only due to network problems, then I can focus on resolving the network issues. Previously, I was concerned that the version might be too outdated to support automatic updates. Given the network situation in China, it would be even better if the engineers could provide an offline installation method for the firmware. Thanks again.

It won't install automatically, but once the download is complete a new option should appear below the speaker in the firmware menu of lanspeaker:

(Once this point is reached, even if the speaker power-cycles it won't have to redownload the update.)

Agreed but that's unfortunately not easy to do.

I'm also looking into getting a version of the Ascend Support app that's compatible with firmware 1.3, that would enable us to see if it's just downloading slowly or if there's more going wrong.

According to your suggestion, I kept 8c’s connected to the Internet from 20:00 Beijing time yesterday until today. However, I still cannot see the firmware upgrade using lanspeaker. I will keep them connected to the Internet. After about 10 hours, I went home and checked again to see if there was an upgrade.

Hmm, based on the server logs it does look like both speakers downloaded the update.

If you're currently using lanspeaker.com it may be worth trying to load the interface from the speakers themselves (e.g. http://8c-281/ or http://8c-281.local/ ) since browsers (especially Chrome and derivatives) have become much fussier about public websites accessing local devices and I'm not sure if that could be causing issues (even if other lanspeaker functionality works, since the system update function uses a separate connection). Or you could try a different browser like Firefox.
CORRECTION: The system update option I've shown above will only appear when loading lanspeaker from http://lanspeaker.com/, not when loading it from the speaker directly, since the system update mechanism was never part of firmware 1.3 itself.

I don't think I can get a firmware-1.3 version of the support app today, so I'll contact you by email on how to manually setup a support tunnel that will let us access the speaker remotely and check for any problems or manually start the update.

I will also try changing the browser as you said.
It would be great if you could control it remotely. What do I need to prepare and when?
