Help - DAC needed with specific requirements

Even though I understand your impression of "looks rather complicated at first glance" on my setup, if you would carefully observe the ...
With the greatest possible respect 1) I didn't say that, and 2) I would wager that Claude Helffer did not find the Bartók etude Hommage à J.S.B. very complicated.

LOL, and fully agree!

"Immortal BACH" composed by Knust Nystedt (1915 - 2014) sounds very much complicated at our first hearing/listening,
but the "magic" is really simple when we look at the scores for all the 4 x 5 = 20 chorus parts.:D

Correct! In any art that involves technical knowledge/expertise the teacher should respect the ignorance of the beginner. And with all due respect to @Aphextwin I don't actually know if that's a fair description of their position with respect to the art of digital cross-over design. But if it is then I advise simpler first lesson: You're better off chaining the mains from the subs since subs typically offer high pass filtering for mains thus wired up. In this arrangement any two-channel DAC that wires nicely to your subs is suitable and there are many nice ones to choose from. The recent SMSL boxes Amir tested, just for example, are both impeccable and the money saved from the dcs Bartok can go towards something more fun.

Thanks for the advice, Im not hugely technical I'm afraid

This is the rear of the sub amp, so could I simply connect the DAC to the sub amp via RCA, then daisy chain it to the main amp again via RCA?

I'm not sure about any high pass, there's nothing mentioned in the instructions.

I don't think the sub amp is anything special so that could be replaced easily with something like an in-wall sub amp which might offer more functionality and performance for not much money??
