HELP! Amazon Fire Stick as Music Streamer

Another thread on this site had me pull out a bunch of HDMI gear and give using a Fire Stick 4K with an HDMI audio stripper as a Music Streamer.
I have it all set up and its working perfectly.
GUI is on my big TV and audio is going to a Schiit DAC through optical to the preamp. Actually sounds amazing. Proud of myself in getting this whole mess to work first time.
Is there a way to control the Amazon Music APP on the Fire Stick with my phone without having to have the TV on?

Yes, the Fire TV works great with the TV off. Go to settings in the top right of the Amazon Music app then "connect to a device" you should see your fire stick and any Amazon Echo's in your house listed. If you are on Android phone you will also see all your Chromecast devices. Select the fire stick from the list and you will have full control from your phone. You only need the TV for setup and software updates. You can unplug a Fire Stick once set up and use it with any stereo even if no TV is attached. You do not need the Amazon remote either, although you can use it for voice control. Chromecast TV can also be used this way with the TV off which gives nearly universal compatibility, and multi room simulcast if you have an Android phone, and most music services also support Chromecast on iphones, but strangely Apple music and Amazon Music don't work with iPhone and Chromecast . You can stream any music service, XM radio, or You Tube video sound through Chromecast, If your phone is android. With Chromecast you can also easily stream music from your PC with an app such as HiFi Cast. To do this with a Fire Stick requires a downloaded app on the Fire Stick, and the TV turned on. If you are an Apple household any 4K Roku box with the latest software update acts as a very good Airplay receiver with the TV off, as long as you select the password rather than the PIN option in Settings (The PIN requires the TV on to see it) the password is only required the first time a device tries to connect, it's seamless after that.

Whether we like it it not, physical media is, if not dead, coughing up blood and being asked by the kids to change the will.

Meanwhile, streaming is flying.

What do we miss about physical? I’m not sure it’s the tactile. It’s the visual. Artwork, lyrics, booklets, images.

The future of streaming must surely be music, with images streamed to your tv. Whether that’s the album cover or something else.

Just be aware that in this case your Amazon Music app will be streaming in SD (lossy codec) quality only. Amazon/Alexa Cast protocol does not support (neither aware of the existence of) HD and Ultra HD streaming options since it was developed before their introduction and was never updated or integrated with the AMHD service.
