Hello everyone,

I’m posting to introduce myself and the company I represent, Panphonics. We're based in Finland and we have manufactured our own take on electrostatic directional speakers for almost past 30 years. I understand "museum speakers" aren't quite as exciting as the new model of Genelecs, but I thought it would be appropriate to say hi and introduce ourselves nevertheless.

If there's interest from the community we could possible have our speakers and amplifiers tested in the future by Amir or share available test data to anyone interested.

I'm not sure what's proper etiquette, but I was also wondering if I could get Audio Manufacturer tag on my profile so my affiliation is clear to all members.

Also, if there's any questions, I'd be happy to answer those aswell. :)

Cheers!

Moi! Do you eat fries with mayo+onions or just ketchup?

Ever made a custom version that is closer to being full-range?

Hei! I'm a sucker for ketchup but prefer plain mayo with Belgian frites, so both?! I guess that's called "kaikilla mausteilla", or "with the works".

As for custom versions, in my understanding we could theoretically create a massive array of panels to increase the surface area of the speaker. This should improve low-frequency sensitivity and output by moving more air - though I'd welcome the friendly acoustic experts to chime in on the practical limits of that. This kind of setup has minimal real-life applications, as other speakers already do such a good job at non-directional audio. I think we have the sweet-spot figured out for now. But since we aren't bound by traditional cabinet enclosures, we have the unique ability to form the speaker surface into virtually any 2D geometry, like a circle shaped element as an example.

Thank you for the link. I was looking for something like this in the FAQ but couldn't find it, maybe it could be added there too. I hope to participate and learn through the forum and community.
