Hello! Interesting question: ADC AK5552 and DAC AK4454 in HEDD Type 07 MK2 monitors. In this model, the dynamic range is 115 dB. If the DAC of my audio interface has a dynamic range of 130 dB, then passing through hedd type 7 will the sound quality deteriorate?

Hello! Interesting question: ADC AK5552 and DAC AK4454 in HEDD Type 07 MK2 monitors.
They use ESS ES9820Q ADC and ESS ES9080Q DAC since the AKM fire.

Deteriorate compared to what? You won't get neither 130 dB nor 115 dB of dynamic range from your speakers, because their overall dynamic range is much lower, I'd say more like 85 dB (they hiss at about 20 dB SPL at one meter and have maximum SPL of about 106 dB at the same distance, according to spec). Dunamic range/SNR by itself is pretty meaningless figure without referencing it to a specific SPL. If the noise is beyond your threshold of hearing at your listening position, then you don't care about specific SNR figure, provided the speaker is able to produce the desired sound pressure at that distance.

That being said, if you are a purist, you'd want to use the digital inputs to avoid an additional DA/AD conversion cycle.
