Now this new MK3 version is something to look out for. well for me it is so i hope for others also.
It is a class d amp with a class a tube preamp. The older MKI and MK2 allready had some good reviews.
The release date is in december.

Designed and made in Montreal, Canada. Billie features aircraft-grade aluminium, stainless steel, hand-crafted knobs and premium electronic components. It’s a beautiful machine, built to last, both inside and out. A 5-year warranty comes standard.
  • New USB-C input with Hi-Res digital and DSD capabilities
  • ESS ES9039 DAC chip offering 384kHz/32-bit resolution and DSD256 decoding. Available in single or dual-DAC configurations. The latter provides enhanced dynamics, reduced crosstalk and noise floor.
  • Dual optical inputs
  • Enhanced AptX Bluetooth reception with an external antenna
  • Versatile phonostage input, switchable from MM standard to high-gain or line-in bypass
  • Customizable Power Core. Choose between two exceptional amplifier modules: ICEpower 200AS2 and Hypex NC252MP (more below).
  • Modular Headphone amp: single or dual-mono
  • Modular upgradable DAC: single or dual-chip
  • 250W 4Ω |150W 8Ω [Watts per channel, RMS. Recommended speakers 4Ω-8Ω, +85dB sensitivity]

I love the look of these, great design. The issue was stock for the previous version. They've almost always run out. It seems they make them to order which is kind of understandable. Also, is that an international 5 year warranty with service agents in Europe or does the product have to be sent back to Canada for any repairs? Not cheap but due for a design classic award alone imho.

I put myself on the waitlist on their website. They do not have stock at this moment but the MK3 is not out yet.

Where did they come up with this chart? Looks like a bunch of nonsense.

Can you or they provide any support for these remarkable claims? What a joke.

the old one was $2k CAN?

so yeah... this is a box of expensive nonsense

like if you can 'dial in' "musicality" and "PRAT" then that says it all

Looks like a great amplifier and likely better built than much of the landfill cheap chinese stuff that normally goes bang :)

Wrong forum to discuss this product though Mike_Trueman

It is on their website but i think you need to choose the module before you buy. You can not have both.

You beat me to the punch...

I was writing this:

Hi

To each its own, I guess. One likes tube and that is ok, however when I see utterances such as these on ASR, I take exception

Peace.

Here is a review of the older MK2 version:

Three things are certain in life. Death. Taxes. And Steve Huff is going to love it and use all his typical adjectives. High-end, velvety smooth, rich, warm, articulate, detailed, certainly-better-than-previous-version.

Or, the right one if you want to see through the nonsense. This is just designed to take advantage of the ignorance of their potential customers. By all means, use no discretion when it comes to figuring out what it actually means.

That's what they are counting on after all.

Here is a review of the older MK2 version:

In general, just posting a link to one of the motley crew of reviewers isn't what we are looking for. A summary of what is being said, and your take on it so no one has to watch it to participate is what we are hoping for.

We aren't here to promote more nonsense, but to cut through it.

They started with a kickstarter to make an amp, it is not like a big company selling as much as possible. They are mostly out of stock.

@Mike_Trueman … as I’ve said, this is not the forum to try getting opinions on a product such as this (or at least one which has subjective sales blurb). Folks here trust measurements, not words (and many love cheap chinese stuff with warranty issues and dubious reliability but they measure well … )

Look for an other forum.

So that means they can promote nonsense? We aren't about nonsense, in case you've missed that about this place.

That chart should be enough to show how seriously they should be taken. Why are you trying so hard to promote them?
I am using SMSL audio for my system at this moment it but i am not hard promoting this amp, just maybe others would like this amp also.

But you can remove the thread if you want because i feel there is so much negative coming.

He’s targeting an interesting market segment who think they are too good for the run of the mill YouTube reviewer. Ever read the comments by people who love his reviews for his honesty? He doesn’t have the same viewership as most of the other goofs who advertise products, but he has quite a few people eating out of his hand. I used to like him because the quality of his reviews are very high until I realized how full of sh*t he is.
