Headphone EQ specific question

Hello,

as a novice, i have a question.

Is there a benfit to do low pass filter bellow 10Hz? Animated gif shows before and after for my EQ setting (DT 770 PRO). Do Amplifier and Headphone have "less work to do" if that filter is applied or there is nothing in that frequency region at all so it doesn't matter?
Can it be counterproductive?

Probably silly question, but i'm interested.

Only if the audio that you listen to has low frequency content that deep.

Then, a high-pass filter will reduce distortion from both the Amp and headphone driver.

If you're curious, you can use Audacity Wasapi Loopback to record all sound that goes through Peace, then analyze how deep it goes.

That's too complex for me to do. :)

So, it can't hurt to apply that filter since it's below audible region and can only be beneficial for amp and headphone if there is such content?

High-pass (low cut). ;)

Some digital recordings (usually amateur recordings) have "DC offset" (zero Hz). That's a defect and a high-pass filter will filter it out. It's usually small-enough not to cause any big problems but it causes a "click" when it suddenly kicks-in when playback starts and another click when playback stops. A filter won't remove the click. Usually there is a DC blocking filter (high-pass) somewhere in the electronics so it rarely gets through to the speakers/headphones.
