At my house I have many PCs because I built PCS. However talk about sex after one of the community members told me how to set equalizer Apo and I realized that my settings kept going back to the 10 decibel increase that's what led me to believe that it in fact wasn't the amp it was the program. Especially since I didn't have that problem on my laptops know my bedroom PC. Initially I had a problem with the amp that was popping and making all types of noises and just wasn't sounding right and it was just giving off bad sound to be honest. And that was with all my headphones. After I saw what was going on with equalizer APO on my gaming PC and it wasn't happening on my other PCS I uninstalled it and I didn't hear any pops any noises. All of my other headphones sounded absolutely fine. Very loud very clear very detailed crisp. So I was like okay problem solved this is awesome however they didn't drive the he6 as well. They sounded noticeably lower than all my other headphones. Although the current stable is smaller at the time of receiving that amp I had a pretty don't have decent collection I had Fostex, various Hifiman sets including the 400se the 4xx the sundara the Xs, the LCD GX the m1070 open back Edition the Sony 7506 and mda1 and so I had a good range to test headphones with and immediately after switching sources detecting the fact that it was in fact The Equalizer program itself that was flawed I came to the conclusion that there was nothing wrong with the amp it was the program mostly because once I hooked it up to other systems within the household it sounded just fine but most of those headphones are very easy to drive. And that's what I'm saying they are all pretty much easy to drive and I have no problems driving them and it sounds absolutely wonderful driving those don't got much headphones that I mentioned I even heard the fiio ft1 and they sounded great. So with the 86 being the odd duckling out at first I thought maybe there's a problem with them but then the more I read up about them and read just how hard they are to drive I came to the conclusion that the L70 just wouldn't be able to drive them to the way I want them to be driven. So my buddy like I said earlier who had I believe it was the PA 5 plus or pa7 I'll have to ask him again when he comes to work tomorrow I could be wrong on that all I know was he said I have this top and amp that I use to drive my Towers in the basement I can bring it and we can test your headphones because he was also a he6 owner. And when we hooked it up out of nowhere volume and I mean it came on pretty quick and it sounded full body and I liked it. That's when I told the people in the thread that he said to get the converter box from speaker line to XLR and he was the first person to tell me to get a speaker amp not a headphone amp. In these rooms he stated that he went through the same thing and that he only felt that power in that full body sound when he connected his to a speaker amp lo and behold a week later and a couple of questions on a couple of threads later and different individuals like you guys trying to help a brother out stated hey I too have gone through what you've gone through before you go down the financial Rabbit Hole of buying this amp or that amp consider a speaker amp preferably one that you can Bridge as the gentleman stated above in mono mode and you'll be absolutely fine. Another gentleman not too shortly after that said hey I too like the ifi sound if you have a spare device use that as your DAC and get a speaker amp that's what I did. He said he used the ayema a07 max in mono mode. He said that should drive them just fine because he did that. Another gentleman advised me on the flux headphone amp but I'm currently at work and I don't have my notes in front of me to give you the model number I do apologize for that but he said that's a headphone amp that will be able to drive those headphones but if prices are concerned a decent speaker amp like the fasi Audio I believe it's called the Z3 he said he started with one and then he bought a second one and like the other gentleman he put it in mono mode and he's been running his just fine ever since with. But before I jumped into that water I can't lie I have also read that if you use speaker amps too much some people have reported there being some sort of damage to their headphones which I did not want to happen I really like these headphones. So that's why I came on here and made this thread because I felt like since you all were able to help me figure out the problem with the L70 D50 combo so quickly that maybe if I asked the amplification question here I would get more informed answers that would help me weed out some of the choices to be able to make the best choice for me. I just wanted there to be more people who actually had hands-on experience with the headphones rather than measurements and what should be able to run. But it doesn't seem like owners of this headphone always want to talk to be honest or they tell you how they also had troubles powering them effectively and they sold them or they got rid of them and eventually replace them with another set of headphones.Simple, connect your valuable L70 (way out of my range because of cost) to some other guy's PC, using standard wires, non-symmetric, no e/q and so on, just right normal, you get the picture. Still to low in volume? And as I said, sometimes you need an expert, for good and fair money, that's the deal, that would do things you do not want to dig deeper into.
