Hello all,

Is there any EQ Profile so as to import to Peace, for my HD600 that can "sound" like HD 800S, so as to have fun and test it as it is described here at 07:22?

Thanks

unless you do it like in the video. it is a moot venture
anyway test this preset I have capped to under 3500Hz:

Download the frequency response .CSVs of the HD600 and HD800s from here: https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq/tree/master/measurements/oratory1990/data/over-ear

Open https://autoeq.app/, load the HD600 file as headphone and the HD800s file as target.

Select Equalizer APO Parametric Eq as Equalizer App and the website will generate a correction preset which you can download as .txt and import into Peace.
Thank you! This is what Headphone guys did in the video cause I do not get it?

I do not clearly understand the way they did it, that's why I ask if there is any ready profile so as to import and find out if I like it.

The attached preset is what they did? Or is your own testing profile?

Thanks a lot

my preset like I clearly labelled is up to 3500Hz. beyond that I can't confidently get the matching right

The measurements are done with the headphones on the person's head, with in-ear microphones. These measurements capture* the unique headphones-to-eardrums sound transfer characteristics of the person as each person's pinnae are unique and different.

You'll usually need the precision of these individualized measurements to obtain the effects mentioned in the video. Measurements using a standard test rig (such as those from GRAS or B&K) or measurements with someone else's head are usually not good enough. So, unfortunately, no ready profile for you to try.

Note: * Partially capture, as the mics were placed at the entrance of the ear canals, not probe mics that can be placed close to the eardrums, thus not capturing the effects of the individual's ear canals. The usual reason for not using probe mics is that they are a lot more invasive, and has a higher risk of causing injury.

What is it that you do not get?
I thought that we all could get the profile they have for HD600->HD800s, so as to test it, even if it is not measured for our heads of course, and I f the solution you provide cound be similar to a profile the Headphone guys use

Run AutoEq select headphones/earphones you want to EQ too and in sound signature (advanced options) press the headset icon, then select headphones you are EQ-ing and output for EQ software you want to use. Download and use result. Of course you need to use same HATS measurements and it works as long as EQ-ed ones can accommodate changes and stay low THD with it. That way you can see how would they sound raw compared to what you already have. You can't see comfort and fit part, for that you still need to try the actual thing.
If you take a good look into structure you can change and adopt fast in Auto-EQ other then picking desired EQ target you will see two Butterwort tone controls for bass and highs to ELC and under them the tilt slope one. Tilt slope - angle one is very useful for adjusting highs to your needs with appropriate adjustments to bass one so that it follows intended curve to it's defined SPL.

Does not work that way.

What they did is use a (very high quality ?) in-ear mic with an almost open ear canal and put a HD800S on each individual's head measure their personal response VERY accurately.
Then they did the same with HD650 (or HD600 or HD560S whatever other headphone one wants to sound like the HD800S) and measured it on their head too.
Then they determined the difference in measured response and applied that difference so that the MEASURED response ON THEIR heads so they got the same results.

ONLY THEN it 'works'.

It thus is absolutely pointless to do this with measurements done on someone else's heads nor by using ANY (industry) standard fixtures.

And even then you can ONLY make 2 different headphones sound the same. You would need to EQ from there to a certain target and that's where the next rub comes.

If it were easy to get a $ 20.- headphone to sound like a $ 2k headphone it would already have been done.
