I'm new to this forum and have seen some wonderful power amp reviews. I saw the Emotiva PA-1 review but was wondering if there has been a review on the newer Emotiva XPA HC-1 High Current mono amps. According to the specs, it claims:

300 watts RMS; 20 Hz – 20 kHz; THD <0.1%; 8 Ohms.
600 watts RMS; 20 Hz – 20 kHz; THD<0.2%; 4 Ohms.
Minimum Recommended Load Impedance: 4 Ohms

Which I thought these would be an ideal match for my Magnepan LRS speakers. I haven't seen any measurement reviews on these mono amps, I suppose they are fairly new and unknown.

is providing excellent advice. I have an XPA-5 Gen1 and a new Hypex nc502mp 6 channel amp from Buckeye amps and the Buckeye is far far superior and less expensive option. Better in every way. Lighter, smaller, less distortion, higher efficiency and greater power specs in virtually all Ohm load conditions.
