I've been eyeing the Cayin RU9. I know the Korg NuTube modes are basically just going to be a harmonic distortion generator on the analyzer, but I'm actually curious about its solid-state performance.
Cayin is claiming it can push up to 1000mW at 32 ohms when you plug it into an external DC source. The built-in battery and MagSafe design seem really convenient.
Has anyone here put one of these on an APx555 yet? I’m trying to figure out if it actually delivers clean, transparent power in the solid-state mode, or if I'd just be overpaying for a tube gimmick.
Would love to hear your thoughts if you've had hands-on time with it.
