Has anyone had any hands on experience with the Elac DC63 center speaker?

I'm currently planning out upgrading my setup from 2.1 to 5.1 - currently have the following:

L/R - Monitor Audio Bronze BX2
Sub - BK Electronics XXLS400

I'll be getting a Denon AVR-X1800H. Then plan is to get the Elac DB63 for L/R, £379 new. My BX2s would then become my side surrounds.

For the center speaker, I'm weighing up whether to get the Elac UC52, or the Elac DC63. Both cost the same £349 new where I am.

There is barely anything online yet about the DC63 in terms of reviews and testing so far. Has anyone had experience with it and what are your thoughts?

My use case is a living room HT setup with a large sofa for multiple people - considering the DC63 is 2-way, is it best to just go with the 3-way UC52?

If I go with the UC52, should this match well enough with the DC63s tonally for my fronts?

Welcome to ASR,

I have experience with other ELAC loudspeakers and feel the UC52 would likely match well with ELAC DB63's for soundtracks. I would consider the DC63 instead if I was listening to music with a mix using a discrete center channel.

I use a single ELAC DBR62 - in its' usual vertical orientation - as a center channel. This alternative gives a wider horizontal dispersion to higher frequencies than a center channel with a mid-woofer/tweeter/mid-woofer configuration - possibly to the audio benefit of those seated at the ends of your sofa. Consider using another DB63 as the center channel - if you have the room to do so.

EDIT - The paid ($19.99/?) Audyssey MultEQ Editor app gives users greater control over the sound in their listening space and is compatible with the Denon AVR-X1800H. Amir reviewed the app and recommends it:
