In process of purchasing a pair of Linton’s from Dedicated Audio. Has any one done business with them?

Yes. Family business, two pleasant transactions, electronic component items shipped to me in California, good protective packaging. Feel free to DM if I can add any perspective.

"... our Patented Cable Tower V2 was specifically designed and engineered for audio/video performance enhancement. "

hmmm.... this wouldn't indicate someone that I'd trust, imo.

Open box, eh? Now... why would anyone ever send a set of these back?!?
Maybe they don't have a kitchen... or a spouse... to confirm the gobsmacking* improvements afforded by a set of those.

I had to go back to look a little closer... the excerpt that I grabbed and posted is just the tip of the egregious iceberg... as copied in entirety without editing on my part. Spoiler Alert... patents... white paper... and Flux Capacitor... oh my. Reviews too!

Does this practice concern your upcoming purchase? My biggest issue is how they doubled down on the nonsense. I didn't dive into the patent or white paper to be honest... but I wouldn't invest the effort for a perpetual motion device either. You could always ask they straight up and have them lie to you, then you'd have more data for your purchase equation/question. Caveat Emptor... sounds right. Although for a straight speaker purchase... it may not matter. Good luck.

And you didn't even mention the best part of all - the agrammatical :p use of it's as the possessive form of the pronoun it! This is the mark of excellence* in all truly breakthrough products/technologies! E.g., scalar energy, 100 mpg carburetors, you name it!

_______________
* I guess I could have written: Its the mark of excellence... but that might have been just a bridge too far, in terms of snark.

I am not quite sure how one patents a device that holds something up off the ground. I would think that, as was the case with General Motors and the aforementioned 100 mpg carburetor*, BIG TABLE** would've bought and squelched all of the IP for such a breakthrough as these cable risers long ago.

OK, I'll stop now... I promise!

____________
* Everyone knows this, right? I am sure there are plenty of references on the internet!
** BIG TABLE -- the Phoebus cartel of the furniture world. The Rothschilds, the Knights Templar, the Tristero, and - of course - the Trilateral Commission are all in on this. Wait, I hear footsteps! I must go!

I get it. I understand when a dealer promotes snake oil. All honest dealers will sell you $500 cables if that’s your bag. As an example look at Crutchfield’s cable prices. The reviews of Dedicated Audio have been highly positive. I’m not too worried.

Should this impact the OP's decision to purchase speakers? There are other places to buy the Lintons that don't sell cable lifters like Crutchfield, who is a great with backing up their products in my long experience with them. Or is the allure of a small shop vs. a large one an appeal?

Sure. But they aren't just selling these, they patented them... etc. If they sold them as eye candy without the other nonsense, sure they gotta make a living. I'd compare this to PS Audio and Paul making claims that are much more egregious. Dedicated & PS invent new snake oil. Others sell them. If transparent, all good. If deceptive... not so much.

Probably no cause to worry when buying the Lintons, but if they make and sell their own speaker designs... I'd send it to Amir first. I didn't mean to harsh your buzz of a new speaker purchase... but you asked about the seller, not the speakers. I'll spare you future grief on this topic. Good luck.

Unless I'm missing another part of this (expired) patent, the only claim is that it's ornamental. No claims such as the Dedicated website "marketing". I guess they patented the design, not the function of lifting the cable off the ground?

Does that make it even more nefarious, that they filed for a design, so they could market the patent as functionality? Yes. I think it does.

Let's focus on OP being able to rely on the dealer to properly sell and service what he is asking about. While it is fun to talk about what else is on the site, that is not the question he is asking.
