Has anyone built an amp using the 3E audio TPA3255 board(s) and their DSP board?

I'm on a slow pace, multi year hobby project to make a combination of 3-way speakers without analog crossovers, and class D amps with DSP to power them and do the crossovers / filtering.

I started out ordering a 3x200W T-amp board:
https://www.parts-express.com/sure-...class-d-audio-amplifier-board-t-amp--320-3352

And a lowcost DSP:
https://www.parts-express.com/dayto...-ke-kernel-dsp-expansion-2-in-3-out--325-1300

For what it's worth, I'm powering them with relatively expensive SMPS board:
https://connexelectronic.com/product/smps600rs/

But I found out this amp board is pretty noisy, and when connecting the DSP board the noise is increased significantly...
IMHO, these parts *might* be usable for a boombox, but not for a home hifi setup.

So now I'm looking into getting better quality parts, and I keep reading good stuff about 3E Audio boards (on diyaudio.com for example).

Has anybody here ever put together an amp using 3E's DSP and amp boards?

There is one thread about it, you can search it up.

Hi

I am using a dayton dsp408 for active Xover now, and its working well. very low noise level and easy control over pc. as for amp, if your power requirement is lower than 60w, take a look at all.com, their volt+d amp works great for me. as for woofer, you can check some cheap class d solution, like hype, or wait allo to deliver tpa3255. I love the high uild &sound quality from allo.

Okay so I've now reached the point of "fuck it"... :)

I've ordered one two-channel TPA3255 board, a single channel TPA3255 board, and an ADAU1701DSP board from 3E audio.

I'll post again once I receive it and hook it up ;-)

Enjoy! There are a couple of giant threads on tpa3255 modules over at diyaudio. I’ve built a few amps using the 3e modules and never had any problems. Just remember the 3255 uses a single ended power supply.

I have a pair of Connex 600w 38v SMPS's lying around waiting to be used.

3E said they would do fine so I feel I'm on the right track :)

All I care about is that there's no hiss - volume down, no noise from my speakers.

I've previously modded a Chinese Tpa3116 board that is running perfectly quiet in my kitchen, but got disappointed trying a Sure 3x200w T-amp board that is noisy even without input.

This is all way overkill for the speakers I'm building anyway, they will be used at moderate volume and consist of a TB1139sif subwoofer driver for low (say <250 - 300Hz), BMR full range driver for almost full range, and an Isodynamic planar tweeter for highs above say 7Khz.
Resembling the Philharmonitor BMR speaker design, but then sealed instead of ported, and using DSP for crossover / filtering / bass adjustment.

Okay so a few months have passed.... :)

I ordered the 3E Audio boards and the DSP last year...
...and then they got lost in the local postal service and got sent back to China.. :-/

My project has been on hold for a while because of - well, life, and Covid-19, and quarantaining and all that jazz.
But I just ordered the TPA3255 1x480W and 2x260W boards, and the DSP board - *again* :)

Hopefully they'll arrive in a few weeks - and then I'll proceed like nothing happened ;-)

Oh! I'm surprised, I thought maybe it is another country where the PO is ***** like South Africa. But one week, they should keep it 30 days, at least.
