Hello,
I just bought a used 2022 Lincoln Aviator with the Revel Ultima audio system.
Previously I had a 2020 Lincoln Continental with Revel Ultima and the sound was excellent.
Unfortunately, I was in a car accident and the car was totaled.

In the Aviator the sound is extremely annoying to the point of hear pain at moderate volume.
The bass sounds like a cheap one-note sub.
For some reason I didn't hear any of that when I tested the car at the dealership.
ChatGPT says some reported similar problems only when the car is moving.

I contacted a Lincoln dealership and they said one known issue is with low battery voltage causing crackling.

Has anybody experienced any of this?

I have another day to return the car ... :( any suggestions for an alternate car with excellent audio system are most welcome.

I can't speak to the Aviator issues, but for other SUVs, the BMW X5/X6/X7 Bowers and Wilkins Diamond sound system is quite good. It can be hard to find if you're looking at existing inventory though, as most don't option it due to cost. It may take some EQ settings to get it to sound its best, and it's maybe not entirely neutral, but overall it sounds very good to me.

I haven't heard the crackling but I have auto start stop turned off to save the battery. I have had to adjust the treble downwards as it is definitely bright but I am overall happy with the sound from the system. Lincoln has acknowledged the battery drain issue but I'm not sure of the correlation with the sound system. It's possible that there is something else going on they need to look at.

That seems rather drastic but it's up to you.

If you otherwise like the car you might want check with a car stereo shop to see what they can do for you. Of course that will cost you more money and it will be too late to return the car.

...The Revel Ultima package probably isn't identical in different cars and different cars will have different acoustics and speaker placement.

I'd return the Aviator. I suspect something is wrong with the audio system, and it won't be easy to find a shop qualified to diagnose and fix it.
