Grimm LS1BE active loudspeakers.
A customer of ours is moving abroad and may have to sell his Grimm LS1BE loudspealers this pair were supplied from new by ourselves.
They are the current ‘top’ specification, Berylium tweeters, the white ‘hi-mat’ enclosure and the motional feedback subwoofers, current retails is well actually not sure £40k?
They are available to audition in London.

I had to check current U.K. prices and it appears that the LS1 Be ( beryllium tweeter) are around £30k that is a two way speaker and the motional. feedback subs are an additional £16k a pair so a grand total of £46k.
We used to sell the original LS1 ( when there was only one version) for £9k, those were the days.

The original design white appear is an interesting read if you have the time, the LS1s were Bruno Putzeys first loudspeaker design and of course the speaker which became the Kii Three, when the Grimm boys declined it his second.
Two decent attempts!
Perfect condition and can be auditioned at the customer‘s place.

Couple of interesting speakers becoming available secondhand and ex-dem, the first are these Grimm LS1 BE, absolutely top of the range spec these retail now at around £45k ( with the two motional feedback subs) supplied new by us in I think 2019, superb like new condition, customer is just moving to a smaller place.

The second in an ex-review pair of Dutch&Dutch 8Cs I will collect those next week, just need to check them out, black baffle and natural oak enclosure, they will be available at a substantial reduction on the new £12948 rrp.

Grimm LS1’s top spec beryllium/hi-matt / motional feedback wetsuits.
U.K. pricing is somewhat opaque as some retailers forget to mention that the subs are separate.
These are immaculate, supplied from new by ourselves/me.

Off topic sort of @Purité Audio , but I am curious - when it comes to highly niche items like this (secondhand speakers in the £10-20k range) where else do you advertise / promote deals? I figure there's a chance of finding a customer on ASR but there simply aren't a lot of people shopping in that range at any given time, right?
 
Really good question, where do you, ‘hi-fi’ is already on its last legs and with the market being overwhelmingly traditionally passive, contemporary actives are a niche within an increasingly small niche.
I need youngish/richish/ technically informed, so if you should stumble across that demographic…

Grimm LS1 bump, they were never an easy sell because of reasons ( aesthetic mostly) but. they are decent speakers.

There has been some interest but no money has changed hands as yet!
These are the tippedy top spec of the Grimm LS1 Berylium tweeters the white ‘Hi-matt’ enclosures and the motional feedback subwoofers supplied from new by me.
The U.K. Grimm pricing appears to be slightly disingenuous often stating a price that doesn’t include the subs which are an extra £14k.
Asking around £18k or ONO.
Superb condition and available to audition in North London.
Alpha Audio preferred these to both 8Cs and ATC somethings!

Fascinating review of the 40’s, I must admit I don’t place a great deal of faith ( none whatsoever in fact) on Alpha Audio’s reviews.
Pleased to hear though that the 40’s respond to a change in mains cabling!
‘Initially, the regular mains cables were replaced for Yeti solid core. That was a very audible step. Especially the bass cleared up. Then an Isotek Titan EVO3 was put between the wall socket and the ATCs. Again a nice improvement. Especially in calmness and imaging. Also, playback is more stable over the day, which is nice.’

Incredible really.

But still, you use it in your marketing (but with a twist) to sell your speakers. ;)
 
Yes… just not many LS1 reviews or measurements that I could find, this old Keith Howard ,

Measurements afterwards showed the LS1be test was flawed as the three speaker pairs were not playing at the same volume.
 
Thanks Windmill, not so long ago I had all three of those speakers here in the same room ( ATCs active 50’s rather than 100’s)
I managed to level match and allow rapid switching though.
