Just buy that Genelec already!I thought maybe he missed it the first time or something
But yeah no need to answer it
It's just not every day that the owner of the company participates in the product's thread so I thought I would ask that.
Working on itJust buy that Genelec already!![]()

He doesn't have to answer, and it's just that kind of product that we know is silly priced, so anything he says wouldn't justify it to us anyway, it's just that kind of product.
People might actually respond to that & do it!

Thank you all for the kindness
But time is money (actually it is even more precious) and you take that from all of us with the same posts/questions over and overBut I can't take money from you in any way
It's just feels wrong to me.
Good question. There's the 8361A for $5000 according to Amir's review, and that performs better than the Grimm in most ways I'd say, so the Grimm is $39250 which is near as damn it 8 times the price. Given that the finishing (aesthetic) is maybe a bit more bespoke and luxury on the Grimm and given it has that quite unique really wide horizontal dispersion then I think more than $10000 is silly given that the 8361A measures better in most ways. I do actually prefer the look of the 8361A too, but I can understand why the finishing on the Grimm might be thought to be more bespoke or luxury. So that would be my own cut off for saying it's silly priced, $10000 - and of course not that I would think it's worth it at that price either, but that would be my cut off for describing this particular speaker "silly priced".I’m not sure exactly what you’re cut off for
“ silly priced” would be.
I have seen manufacturers in the past who sell products that were criticized for the price breakdown their costs and reasoning for the price… and the price no longer seemed “silly” in that regard.
I mean, there’s a lot of “ you could just DIY that much cheaper” to be found on the net, which end up being pretty ignorant of what it takes to run a particular business and actually sell the products in question.

I mean I still think it's silly!I guess this brings up another aspect of what one is evaluating.
As a consumer one might say it would feel silly to pay significantly more for speaker B over A if the performance was relatively equal.
But in terms of the reason for the pricing, the difference might be between the more boutique and smaller nature of one company versus another with different economies of scale, etc.
The speakers I own for instance are doubtless outperformed technically by significantly cheaper speakers. But I was fine paying extra because I preferred the aesthetics, the exact sound character of these particular speakers compared to others, and also understanding I was buying from a much smaller “ boutique” type operation and so it was going to cost more.
$11k now. They went up.Good question. They are £8100 per pair at the best discount I found, Amir had one. The price for the Grimms is a pair. There's the 8361A for $5000 according to Amir's review,
Ok, per pair, so that decreases it from the x8 factor I mentioned (to the x4 factor), and yeah in different countries the prices will be different I imagine which can affect the comparison, and as @Mort mentioned he said the price of the Genelec has gone up since the review. I mean I still think it's silly though! They are £8100 per pair at the best discount I found, Amir had one. The price for the Grimms is a pair.
Obviously still very expensive but I am bemused people get their knickers in such a spectacular twist about it.
The 8361A with its dedicated LF box (W371) is £24,300 a pair. That is the context in which I would compare their prices, personally - and have considered buying but put off by the hideousness.
O/k the investment. The unique selling point is there. What price can you charge? If it is a good innovative feature, you can be confident that it will be copied in the near future. Making it available on a mass scale will reduce costs. Better to wait, not buy today.Ok, ... the prices ... and the Genelec will also benefit by room reinforcement likewise.

If the feature is not a real improvement, it will not be widely available. But all the more reason not to buy today.
What do you smart guys think of this idea? Otherwise, congratulations on the recent derailment of the thread, an impressive train wreck. And again not enough bass, oh well.
I'll probably never get my technical questions answered. Who am I?

Thank gosh you are here to police it. Phew. Crisis averted.Otherwise, congratulations on the recent derailment of the thread, an impressive train wreck.
I'm not. I've got technical questions right from the beginning, and I was hoping for some anwers. But it is always about the bass (see the bigger Revels for comparison) and the price. I understand the urge to question the price. I would rather ignore it (way beyond my paygrade). But the technicalities are in my range, so to say.Thank gosh you are here to police it. Phew.
