Edit:
Thank you indeed, @Karmacoma,
I just download-purchased the studio quality (192 kHz 24 bit) album (47 tracks) from the site of LINN Records.
Really nice music, wonderful performance, and superb recording quality! I love them very much.

Oh, Joseph-Hector Fiocco (1703 - 1741 Brussels)...
I have this really wonderful and enjoyable CD, AEO-512 AEOLIAN RECORDS Label.

As for the unique baroque soprano singer Kumi ARATA, please refer to posts here and here on my thread "Lute Music and Other Early Music: Stunning Recordings We Love".

Too bad this thread has gone sideways with pple showing off.
Let's get it back on track please.
I apologise, I feel caught! :)
I wasn't paying enough attention to the fact that reports about live concerts don't belong here. Is there by any chance already a thread where you can report on specifically classical and contemmporary concert visits? Not pop concerts! (Thanks for hints)

And continue to have fun with great classical recordings.

Back to topic:

Here is a veritable treasure trove of competently curated great classical recordings (imo) with high-definition videos to go with some. You can try it out for free.

My wife discovered this platform only recently. At the moment, I'm still listening a lot with Deezer HiFi at reasonable rates. When this period ends, I'll sign off and switch to this platform.

This may be a long shot…

Anyone can direct me to a quality performance and recording of Saint-Saenz Symphony No 3.
Thanks in advance
I don't know the Macelaru, so can't comment. Of the dozen or so recording I do, I would recommend Oliver Latry with Eschenbach on Ondine, particularly if you have a multichannel system, or Michael Murray on Telarc.

Thanks for the tips, I'll be happy to listen to them later.

BTW:

Olivier Latry, the famous organist from Paris, I have heard live more than once. Formertimes we used to live in Karlsruhe directly across from this church where he gave concerts. The church has an excellent organ and acoustics. Oliver Latry said: Better than Notre Dame in Paris.

Speaking of great organists
Bach Complete works for organ by Marie-Claire Alain on 15 (!) CD's.
The best organist on the best organ especially crafted for the task based on her researches on Bach, her life's work as a musicologist , an interpretation second to none imho, a monument of a classical recording.
For streamers, track #51 for the ''piece of choice''.
Enjoy!

That is very interesting! I'd like to look into that further, I have not yet become particularly aware of Marie-Claire Alain or her dedicated Bach organ. Is there any info worth reading about it? Where is this organ installed?
Basically, I find the concept of creating dedicated instruments or technical equipment specifically for a beloved composer or type of music exciting.

For example, my former sensei Susumu Sakuma from Japan created an amplifier specifically for the music of Bach.

51. Bach, JS: Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565

The piece is a perennial favorite, heard a thousand times. This particular recording you mentioned sounds quite good I think. :)

If you like organ, you really missed a big chunk here, according to her short english wikipedia page which you should start with, ''She was the most-recorded classical organist in the world, with over 260 recordings in her catalogue'' and also, 2500 concerts (!)... not to forget she trained some of the best organists of her time, she's a monument by herself.
It's a good article but in french, you're gonna have to use the translation option.
There are also plenty skits of her courses and interviews available on YouTube, an exemple here by the american guild of organists master séries
Enjoy!

Thank you for the information! With this I can work.

I will look into it later. I like the organ very much and my wife and I have attended countless organ concerts, including in France. However, nowadays I am more specifically interested in contemporary classical music and prefer more modern compositions. Just to mention Wolfgang Rihm as a composer or Dominik Susteck as an outstanding organist. Just to name these two which belong to my favorites.

The music world is so big that you can't know everything. In this respect, one always misses something. ;)
By the way, I also speak a little French and have some friends in the French audio scene and composers whom I appreciate very much.

Interesting biography!

Apparently Marie-Claire Alain kept finding new organs during her life that she thought were good for playing Bach. She also mentioned the Silbermann organs, which happen to be in the area where I live today. In our town of Görlitz there is, among others, the famous Sonnenorgel, the organist is my wife's choir director.

But organ building has developed further. There are some new organs and younger organists that are worth listening to. E.g. the excellent organ in the Tonhalle Zurich. My Youtube example from there is only for illustration of that organ. The musical quality is unfortunately not as good as it could be.

''Marie-Claire Alain kept finding new organs during her life that she thought were good for playing Bach''

Well, it's a bit more complicated than this, the article is misleading. In short, she believed it was important to play different organs (even bad ones sometimes!). The one from the 1980 recordings still remains the one best adapted to both Bach and her skills and style, the others, like the Silbermann one, heavier and with a ''cheating'' acoustic.
Anyway, whatever the discussion it always seems to come back to you, your region, your wife, whatever, man you know you have a condition right? It's really annoying let's just keep talking about artists and music, nobody cares about your life here, sorry to be blunt but it's for the greater good.

Those are harsh words, I'm a little scared. I understand the forum so that it is about sharing practical experiences and knowledge. For this reason, I also follow the information that is suggested here and listen to the music tips that are suggested here. And I try to add information or to question and try to illustrate this.
I am also interested in anecdotes and backgrounds of protagonists.

I suggest for kindness that you put me on 'ignore.

I'd love to get some recommendations for baroque and early music recordings. I have some of the recordings mentioned in this thread but I'm always looking for more. My favorite is instrumental music for small ensembles. I love double reed instruments and viols.

@Karmacoma
I was enjoying this thread until you started attacking another member. The member's posts are not off topic, unless you decide to be unrealistically literal with the thread's title. Your comments are personal, and without a doubt off topic. In the case where a thread has run off the rails, personal insults are not a useful remedy.

Two things:
Didn't mean to offend, just been blunt out of patience, i realise i probably shouldn't have used the word ''condition'' and I apologise, i stand on the rest.
You owe the person you attacked and the ASR community and apology.
Sorry not sorry
Regarding your final statement, you owe me nothing. And I hope it was only directed at me.
