Wish to read more about this speaker, their product page is so poor that only provides 3d rendering.

Does the manufacture provide any measurement at all?

They look like they'd be acceptable in terms of decor to ' non audiophile/enthusiasts , partners '

Can't use the term WAF anymore apparently.

Sorry, a little off topic. Any good info or measurements out there for the Gradient Six or Five? I've done a little searching in the past and can only find a few subjective reviews of the Six.

It is interesting that the speaker has a dipolar midrange, I wonder what does it means in terms of speaker placement and sound effect.

Does it means it should be placed free-space and away from front walls? (googling and googling)

I wonder if the 10kHz and 16kHz nulls are room effects because another in-room measurement I found doesn't show it:

That's better performance than the Revolution's coax, which still has a 16kHz null.
Room shouldn't affect 10kHz+ and this is a cardioid speaker.

I couldn't found't any data to show the cardioid directivity.
In fact can a speaker be both cardioid and dipolar at the same time?

A 3-way speaker can be onni, mono, cardioid and dipole at different frequency ranges, and that's what 1.4 does. But I haven't seen 360 deg polar measurements of it.

I have done a clone of it two years ago for one of my daughers. My midrange ball's rear vent is smaller. Active with Hypex FA123 plate amps. My crossovers are acoustic LR2 at 300 and 3000Hz. Same SEAS MR18 midrange, but alu tweeter and 10" SB bass in closed box.

Your clone looks awesome and love the wooden finishing, good job.

I found a user in-room measurement of Gradient in here:
https://www.whatsbestforum.com/thre...lifying-and-changing.29155/page-2#post-661963

Did you use dipolar in your clone too? Gradient's dipolar features a "anti-wave" to create a passive-cardioid pattern.
My understanding is high frequency always has higher directivity, so it is cardioid by default. So when a speaker claim to be cardioid I always wants to see the measurement.

Great measurements, but it really does look like a Dalek, though.

I haven't bothered to convert my measurements to directivity spectrograms, but no my 1.4 clone doesn't have dipole pattern. The midrange alone is close to dipole, but combined with bass and tweeter it is closer to cardioid.

This pdf from Gradient tells more about combined response pattern https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FjAVegQIBxAB&usg=AOvVaw2r1_j_4ZuEtmODzw0ksOiQ

Gradient Revolution has dipole bass, but 1.4 bass is omnipole. Midrange and tweeter of both is cardioid(ish)
