Got my little hands on the Purifi 10"s

I think Vance Dickason liked it. :)

"After testing some 5000+ speakers, I am rarely impressed by a new woofer. The Purifi 10” is the exception. I think this might be the best woofer I have ever tested."
He is going to be over the moon then when the 12" Purifi comes out.

More info here, perhaps:
It isn’t so surprising to see CSS technologies deployed by DALI, since DALI was founded by Peter Lyngdorf, who also co-founded Purifi Audio.
But who knows… maybe we’ll see some larger Drivers come out from Purifi… start saving now!

Once I am happy I will get the horn cabinet made which will sit on top of the ptt10. Compression driver is ND1480BE also very low distortion, ptt10 distortion being the lowest of this type of woofer in the world. The super low distortion makes vocals and Speach the cleanest I have heard, this is listening to them straight after a session with kef blade which are great but the dynamic range here is on another level.
Which make/model horn is that you're using with the ND1480Be driver?

Where are you crossing with that ?? inch woofer? Please describe the mid and high sound you're getting.

Horn is 18sound XT1464. You can also use the faital Lth142 if your not going too loud as the inner throat is congested but has a better exit transition. Given the choice again I would use the faital horn.

Crossing at 950hz lr48. Can also use lr24 but needs some peq.

This is a 10" woofer.

It's extremely dynamic the mids are covered really well and treble is excellent.

Joseph has reviewed the compression driver here and I agree with him.

So, you are using a pair of those 1480Be drivers? I wonder when 18Sound might again have access to Be stores from Materion to resume production of the all too few Be drivers they make. Otherwise, these cost of the few such drivers available new or used will stay keep hyperinflated.

Also, if you're looking for a waveguide with superb frequency response, low diffraction, no pattern flip, greater constant directivity and/or relatively high DI, you might want to check out Marcel Batik's horns. https://at-horns.eu/index.html So glad Earl Geddes had suggested that I check out Marcel's big thread, which was how found his website. https://www.diyaudio.com/community/...he-easy-way-ath4.338806/page-948#post-8172028 Only downside is that you have to 3D print or (ideally) CNC the one file you download and do everything else to make it ready for use.
