Does anybody have a good recommendation for a Toslink Out to USB C in converter?

I need to take the Toslink out of my Puffin and into my MacBook, which no longer has a dual purpose headphone / Toslink input jack like the old models.

It needs to be good enough to capture LP test record tracks.

Douk Audio U2 is another option, measurements below by @VintageFlanker from a few years ago;
There is also a U2 Pro.

JSmith

Hifime S2 digi or a used sound blaster xfi hd for instance

As it happened, I just bought one UR23 optical to USB from https://hifimediy.com/product/hifime-ur23-spdif-optical-to-usb-converter/ . Plus one USB-C adapter https://hifimediy.com/product/usb-type-c-adapter/

It works just fine. Recommended. Nick is very cooperative and responds promptly. Shipping excellent.

They also have the unit UT23 which converts the other way around (USB to optical) https://hifimediy.com/product/hifime-ut23-usb-to-optical-spdif-converter/
I have used this exact product with the Puffin and found that it works perfectly.

I use this:

Cubilux USB C Optical Audio Capture Adapter

*I can't vouch for it as high quality enough for your LP recording... but it's good enough for my very basic use case.

I ordered this, but it only seems to support 48kHz 16 bit. I was hoping for 96kHz to use for LP cart measurement, but 48 is the only option I get in the windows sound device. There is a more expensive two way one available which says up to 192, but I can't get it in oz.

If you're just doing cart measurement, do you really need 96 khz?

All of the test LPs I know of top out at 20khz test tracks, and 48khz sample rate is enough for that.

Just so you can see the distortion products, which seems to be a good gauge of stylus wear at the treble frequencies.

FWIW, the 2H and 3H distortion graphs in the Phono Cartridge Measurement Library here usually top out at 20 khz.

And they often peak in the top 10-20khz octave.

By extending into the ultrasonic 48khz range via 96 khz sampling, you're probably mostly going to see the tails of those spikes.
