I read this morning that amirm (the site founder) was subjected to flooding...our thoughts are with you all though as it must be quite upsetting...frightening and rightly so makes you reconsider the priorities. Magicos will be in your home I'm sure anytime soon and as I remember you still have a few pretty awesome speakers to listen to! :)
:)
My speaker in this non-ideal setting are roughly 3mt apart, 1mt from the back wall and roughly 1 meter from the right wall for the right speaker. The left speaker is maybe 3 meters away from the other wall on the right. I've have considered the Harberths, the PMCs and ATCs but ended up with a pair of Sonus Faber Venere 2.5 aided by my legacy powered sub from Infinity Modulus from 1990. It's not perfect in any shape or form (I dream of a dedicated listening room but ain't happening within the silly floor space of british homes unless you're a millionaire or you live in the middle of nowhere).

(this is an old picture as the pre-amp is now the Anthem but gives you an idea)

Got the A3 delivered yesterday.. :)

There will be a lot of listening this weekend:))) I'm so happy for you though!
Thank you!! Suffering from magicoism :).. Hard to concentrate at work.. I was listening to them last night, up for a while getting lost in vintage French music.. Just haunting.. the clarity, the controlled bass, the non fatiguing highs.. I am becoming a big fan of clean metal and closed design.. They are heavy to move around.. I got these special ordered floor saving golden brass metallic discs about 3" diameter from some company in Hong Kong. That I'll be setting the spikes into, instead of the ones that came with the speaker, they are just not substantial enough.. Once I get it settled in the right spots, I'll get some photo shots and will post..

Hope all is well.. with other speakers I have been tempted to insert the equalizer into the loop.. But with the Magico I have no desire to use any form of equalization.. I do use the sub with the pass filter turned all the way down close to 30Mhz or so.. It adds a smooth bass to the Magico without any overwhelming bass notes.. also wanted to check in on the Tinnitus.. any new developments?

Hallo! I'm having a very busy week at work plus my dad's visit in almost 3 years due to the pandemic...and storm Eunice git two of my fences down...but it's all good.
I have no doubt that something like magicos would induce a level of addition which would be difficult to separate from... One of my friends said one day his wife was walking in the house with a new very mini dress and he didn't notice so he was involved into the music (I believe he had to make up for it with an expensive dinner out in the aftermath). He was auditioning a pair of magicos:)))
You know what? I've been thinking I was a purist all my audiophile life .... equalisation was for the cheapo Japanese 80's stuff, not for real big ears like us.instead the introduction of room correction gave me a bit of thought....we shouldn't shy away from any means to improve our listening experiences. We shouldn't be so audiosnob to at least try... you feel you need to add a balancing act then why not? I'm happily using the infinity passive filter coming with the modulus sub which offer the possibility to remove some booming and reverberation and the anthem room correction. Imaging is pretty focused and mids are as smooth as a roasted Marshmellow :)))
But the magicos...geeez these will be another level! I can't just deny I'm jealous (in the nicest possible way) !!!
On the tinnitus side...not good news. It's still very much there and I guess there to stay. If anything it became somewhat worst but I'm trying to cope with it with waves of success. At very low volumes it's very annoying. I need to see another specialist in the near future ...thank you for asking this is immensely kind of you plus it's more bearable to know you have audiophliac sympathy!!
Ps I saw your pics on the other post ....WOW

I hear you my friend!! its okay to end up in the dog house every now and then as long as its a worthy reason :) I am reluctant to say that I have always enjoyed equalization with a fear of being run out of town by audio purist folks with pitch forks. Glad to hear you are on the same wave length.. If you look at the rack closely in the photo, you'll see a 10 band equalizer sitting right next to it on the floor :) In the audio purist world it could be a sin using such a thing, but I am saving enough to bribe my way when I get to that gate.. I engage that equalizer every so often to increase the overall loudness and increased subtle notes, which I miss in the newer preamps and amps.. I have to admit, when I engage the equalizer in the loop and I listen to some music like the thriller MJ, the opening of the door and the maniacal laughter through the Magico is so frighteningly real.. The Salk veracity ST build is moving but slow.. when I get those, it'd be interesting to hear what a transmission line speaker and ribbon tweeters sound like.. I owe it to you for getting the Lumin U1 mini.. it's a nice little thing.. and I love the DAC on the Luxman D03, it exudes the Japanese quality of excellence.
I am so sorry to hear about the tinnitus.. Hope one of the specialist can help with it, minimize it.. My brother in law is a retired physician MD General Medicine but doing consultation work now on a limited base out of Worchester UK, I'll reach out to him, see if he has any thoughts. On my side, something that I have been dealing with since January of 2021 is chronic lower back pain. Seems to be getting worse and I am so hesitant to take strong naproxen with what it's doing to my liver. Long session of listening to music has become a thing of the past. I wish I had built the system like ten years back, but then again there were other financial commitments and uncertainties in life. Anyway, I guess we'd have to make the best of everyday. Glad you liked the photos of the system :) . Hope you have a great time with your Dad's visit.. enjoy while they are around as much as you can.. I lost my dad in 2016, a truly kind, gentle and extraordinary man. miss him.. cheers..

Missed answering one of your questions from before, between the Luxman and Mcintosh DAC, the Luxman is in a different class.. As much as I hate to say it, the Mcintosh DAC doesn't cut it. It's too bright for me.. The Luxman sounds so much more luxurious, more refined, greater clarity and just grabs you with the sense that you are listening to a true audiophile system. I am really glad I gave it a chance and bought it..

Well...everything seems so less meaningful when you can't close your eyes to the struggle of these days. We are fortunate and I hope our fellow audiophliac who are living through hell can't have some peace soon.
Anyway...
It might come with age or simply wisdom (if I had any!) To stop being so driven by the others opinions...it's important to me to make sure I can reserve some spave for my music for my quiet not quiet time:) who should judge us if we feel more if another circuit or gear is in the loop? I know...sometimes it feels like an horde of purist might just pass by and tell you...ohhh, that cable is not good...that conditioner is for hair not for power lines ohhhh...you're only 1.25 degrees off the sweet spot...that reverberation is simply unacceptable how could you !! Well....good news is that it doesn't come that often plus again...it's our passion it's our emotions who should say anything about it! Maybe the wife:))
Yes the tinnitus is bad but I guess it's a minor point to live with ...sometimes it's less bearable like right now but I'll live. Thank you for your offer though...I might just take it as finding a decent specialists these days is virtually impossible.
You should look after your back pain though. The magicos might just give you a moment of heaven...I can but only dream of the idea of that level of realism that make goosebumps sudden turn up without notice...and again I'm fortunate that some of it I still can appreciate.
Now you must keep on listening and tell us how the settling is progressing as I guess after a few hundred hours the woofers would start loosing a bit and becoming even more rounded the image even more focused.
Oh by the way, regarding the mini...I'm just humbled to have provided a minor suggestion to someone who has a much wider experience than men like you ! I'm nowhere near an expert...maybe an amateur with a passion for music! I have to confess the my D2 is very very effective and reliable...I might not give it away soon :)
Be well and listen through:)

Hi all, long time no see.
I'm still loving my ds-10. I've recently wanted to try out Deezer and got 3 months for a few quid.
Thing is that I can't seem to be able to play through the goldnote app (or mconnect which is the same) anything but MP3 despite having a premium hi fi tier subscription.
any suggestion? The problem doesn't appear using tidal or qubuz.
anyone know how to? I've changed my setting on the Deezer app separately but there is no way to change settings on goldnote app. I've reached out to customer services and waiting .
hope everyone is happy and ready for Xmas.
