Well in this review there seems to be ongoing debate about whether this is jitter, or un-dithered down conversion (truncation) from 24 bits to 16 bits.

But in either case:
more than one person has said they can't hear anything wrong with the sound.
All components are below -90dB, and are down below -110dB (inaudible) at the most sensitive part of our hearing (around 3 or 4 kHz)
having tested this converter myself, I didn't notice any difference compared to a D10S, I also used two friends' ears, no difference observed

as I said; I changed for my psychology (topping d10s).

Any recommended simple but good USB to digital (coax or optical) converter?

the $15 one reviewed here works just fine. xing af200 is another in $100 range that has excellent test results discussed here previously (search the forum). there is no real value in spending any more on a digital to digital interface, if it works it works and you won’t be able to hear any difference

SMSL PO100 series is super cheap and Amir has reviewed them. For USB to Digital seems excellent (and cheap <<100$) ... I use little older but for me more then competent enough (192/24bit PCM and DSD64) Douk U2 for about 50$ and have been super happy (problem free) with it. There is U2 Pro version etc.
I think you don't need to spend (lot) more if all you need is stable UAC2.0 USB to Digital interface (i used it on Linux and Mac but due to design Windows should be problem free as well).
