Genelec Owners Lounge and Discussion

Are you using GLM v5.2? I’m sure you know there is an issue that can affect calibration and a work-around.
Hello, may I ask were someone can go to read more about the issue?

I was seeing some bizarre behavior while doing sweeps the other day on GLM 5.2. Maybe a different issue than the one you are referring to though.

Hi all, ASR keeps surprising me as I slowly lurk my way around. This thread is another opportunity to feel a bit more part of the community.
So, without further ado, I am the very proud owner of the original small monitoring system by Genelec; 1029A and 7050A.
Purchased around 2001/2, I've used them for listening, producing, mastering and more than a few house parties.
They've never let me down, despite all sorts of abuse; accidental and intentional. A quarter of a century later they now have pride of place in a sitting room of reasonable proportions.
Thankfully, I've learned enough from ASR to stop myself from throwing money at room treatment. I've only lived here for a few months and the room isn't quite finished, just waiting for curtains.
Anyway, nice to meet you all. It's great to have a place where others understand the superior quality of the mighty Genelec ;)

Yeah man that's old school stuff.

I'm having trouble running a 5.2 GLM digital system alongside and 5.2 Analog DiracART system. I can't get the subs to run full range, full output.

The only way to get your Genelec subs to run full range is to send the analog Dirac signal into "LFE IN", not "IN 1", on your sub. Then they will easily hit the 150Hz F-support in Dirarc ART.

But then you can't run GLM calibration because you'l be limited to a 120Hz crossover. Setting the bass management to "Full band" won't work either, that just sends the full signal, not just high-pass, to the mains, and still has a hardwired crossover around ~100Hz to the subs, at least that was my experience.

I wanted to post there, that screen size and angle is just wrong. I would just end up squinting with neck pain lol.
