Currently my playback for my computer is USB to digital converter -> DAC -> preamp (or I have a decent TVC sitting around as well) ->

I have GLM and am interested in simplifying my setup, but I'm also running Fedora Linux as my main operating system. I can setup GLM's correction in Windows as I used to dual boot into it for LTSpice.

My question is how would I get the 9310B volume control to work with my Linux setup? Thanks.

9310B should just work since it's directly connected to the GLM hardware module. And the GLM hardware module will continue to work once setup. You don't need it connected to the computer if you want (can power it by any typical usb PD) and also don't need to have GLM software running.

I think you can also use a remote as volume control, as it's part of the Genelec workspace, but I will double check.

I think I am going to go for the wired as the person that reviewed the 9310B at ASR said it has hard stops, this will be useful for me to know that it's always at max attenuation when not in use.

Many Finnish websites have been a bit flaky today, not sure where they are hosted, didn't check, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is some Russian bullshit going on. But could be a problem with some data center too.

Edit. It seems Amazon is more or less down where my.genelec.com is hosted. Cloud has made everything suck (and failures there affect "everything", and still money goes there).

GLM Autocal sweeps- Does anyone else find it odd or know why Genelec doesn't show the combined output of all driven channels in the Freq Resp charts when doing your measurements?

I couldn't find any explanation in any of their documentation as to why this is the case. Not sure how many real world use cases there are where someone is only using one speaker to explain the reason for this.

It seems the only way to gather these insights would be by saving the Autocal config to the speakers then using REW or similar to see the results of all channels driven.

As some of you already know, I was already quite familiar with the 8380s, having listened to them both in Paris at Audio-Technica and at Genelec in Japan, where I also had the opportunity to compare them with the flagship 8381s.

That said, I wasn't expecting this level of performance in a living room with absolutely no passive acoustic treatment. The listening position is about 2.5 meters away, which certainly helps, but the transparency and bass dynamics are simply outstanding.

GLM did an excellent job despite the room's asymmetry and the low-frequency room modes. I only made a few final adjustments using REW to validate and fine-tune the end result.
